How My Interest In Blacksmithing Grew Into A Job I Love

Hello! My name is Andrew and I am a blacksmith. I’ve been engaged in this business for about two years. What began as a hobby in my spare time grew into a profession which I love.

I started studying at the forges of the production type. Those are fences, balconies, bars on the windows and so on. They work by using manufacture element templates. In the beginning, when you do not know anything about working with metal it’s very interesting. Working on the pneumatic hammer, bending of volutes (swirls) in the finished drawing, stamping invoices on metal… But a year later, I became interested in the production of small and large forms manual methods. Just like smiths worked before.

For a year, I have been working and studying in the workshop of the author Sergey Svirlova. Their intertwine and antiquated technology is modern, giving a stunning effect.
