Lori Lejeune’s “Body Language” installation series explores the human condition using digital figures.

In using figures that are gender-neutral and race-neutral, the provocative work explores emotion and feeling while honoring experiences that many people share in common.

Technology inspires Lejeune’s work and the pieces are created through a blend of technology and traditional fine art techniques. The mannequin-like figures are created using 3D software that is similar to the kind used to create animated films. Then the figures are printed onto archival paper and mounted on round canvas using traditional fine art techniques.

The patterns of canvases are a meaningful part of the work, reinforcing a range of moods conveyed by the figures. In the larger organic pieces, the arrangement is like the flow of experiences and interactions in life. The installation work offers stylish designs to enhance public spaces.
