Four years ago I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and to try and understand the diagnoses and what it means I used photography as art therapy to express emotions, fears and feelings during manic and depressive attacks. I guess a lack of vocabulary to explain these debilitating episodes made me turn to New Media Art to create this quirky self-portrait series to find a way to communicate something that felt overwhelming and unexplainable at the time.

Seasons of the Mind is a project about Mental Health. Bright, fun and colourful images that draws the viewer in, closing the gap between audience and the stigma towards mental health. Each image expresses a multitude of emotions and feelings and the complete series covers symptoms of illusions, paranoia, depression, mania, anxiety and psychotic episodes.
