People that have anxiety can tell you how frustrating their disorder might be. Finding a cure for it isn’t that easy and it isn’t something that is the same for everyone. People react different to certain treatments, and finding the one that is suitable for you can sometimes be frustrating and a matter of trial and error. Even in reaching full recovery, getting over anxiety totally might not happen for certain people.

Scientist don’t know the direct cause of this condition. Anxiety can come really quickly into someone’s life. It can also come at any point in your life without any symptoms that happened before reaching the state of anxiety. There are some symptoms that can help you in recognizing that you’re not on a good path.

1. PAIN IN MUSCLES

Anxiety can affect our entire body. Sometimes the discomfort we have lies in our muscles. Stress will make our muscles tighter and we will cramp easier. People that suffer from anxiety will experience almost constant muscle tension. The ones that have been struggling with this for a while might not even notice it. Treating this can be done with regular exercise. This will keep your symptoms under control but for those ones that suffer from bad anxiety may still experience big muscle tension.

2. CONSTANT HEADACHES

Since anxiety causes our body to tighten up, our head is no exception for that rule. People that suffer from chronic anxiety experience constant headaches and heavy migraines. The tensions of the head causes a buildup of a cortisol hormone in your body. This hormone can cause you actual pain because our body will prepare for an extreme situation.

3. TIREDNESS

Suffering from anxiety can also deplete your body from energy stores, that will result in exhaustion and constant tiredness. If you’re feeling tired even after a good night sleep, you might be suffering from this condition. Your body is using energy that’s mostly keeping us alive so you don’t have much energy left for anything else. Anxiety will also make you over think things, which will sometimes lead to your mind feeling tired and depleted.

4. CRAVING SUGARY FOODS

When we experience high levels of stress, we mostly reach for something to comfort us. A lot of people get a treat that’s sugary or fattening so they can stabilize their bodies. This is for those ones that suffer from anxiety, as their bodies mostly feel under attack from their disorder. If you’re hiding your emotions and using food as your comfort, you might have a hidden anxiety disorder. It is recommended to keep note when you start to crave these foods so later on you have an easier time coping with your feelings.

5. DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS

Having this disorder is mostly connected to poor digestion too. When the brain is not in a good condition, the digestive system will not work properly either. In fact, between 80 to 90 percent of the brain’s “calming” neurotransmitter, serotonin, is produced in the gastrointestinal tract.

6. MOOD SWINGS

When a lot of anxious thoughts are going through our mind, we usually have little patience for things that need our attention. This is really counterproductive as it’s always better to focus on things that are constructive and productive rather than allowing anxiety to run over you. For those ones with that have a chronic condition, their usual reaction is to “lash out” or “snap” when someone is in need for their attention.

7. GETTING NO SLEEP

When people experience this state it is easy to connect that the brain can’t relax. When we’re unable to relax, we’re also unable to have a good rest and sleep. It is common for someone with anxiety to be exhausted in body, but restless in mind. To say it in other words, a lot of people want to sleep but their brain just simply won’t allow it.
