Woman Gives Birth To 10lb Baby In Car While Husband Films And Drives To Hospital

Lesia and John Pettijohn thought they had time to spare before their baby was born. However, forty-five minutes into their drive to the Bay Area Birth Center in Texas, Lesia went into labor and gave birth to their first son, Josiah. The footage was filmed using a GoPro camera.
“The only reason I would pull over is if there is something wrong that needed to be dealt with immediately,” Jonathan told KHOU. Wife Lesia added, “I was probably freaking out way more than I should have. But I really didn’t want to have him in the car. I was scared. I didn’t know if he’d be breathing OK or if he would need anything else.”
Josiah weighed about 10lb at birth, and is the couple’s third child. Jonathan is a machinist, and he claims that he didn’t pull over because his wife told him to keep driving, and they didn’t have a working cellphone with them.

i dont wanna sound like an annoying bitch but believe me a quick birth is anything but easy!! i had my first having a 4 hour labour and my second was half an hour!! i couldnt even get out the front door lol the lack of any kind of pain relief is one thing but you have to do it all yourself while a baby is literaly tearing its way out of you... and the pain? forget about it! flipping heck its so intense! more intense than a slower birth cause you're doing all that work in like a fraction of the time! please please dont say its easy! that woman is a hero!
That was amazing to have a first baby and to have it that fast after her water broke!! I've never seen a birth that fast. I seen first births that take days to deliver. Amazing and what a story to tell over and over again. Congrats little family!!!!

That was awesome. A friend of mine had a birth that easy. The whole thing lasted about 45 minutes and she was in the hospital.
Pshew! That's pretty intense and pretty wonderful!! Cute pregnancy clothes too! I can't believe how calm the dad is, though.
What an amazing woman! Tears of joy and admiration for you from the UK. I think the Dad is getting some serious fire here but actually, in my opinion, the fact that he remained calm and took the lead from his lady, helped her to let nature take its course. Congratulations family, that was truly well done :)

OMGeeeee!!! The speed limit sign said 55. He was moving at a snails pace. I know there were stop lights and such, but I would have been honking that horn and running as many lights as I had to. I was stressed just watching! Congratulations to that family on the safe delivery of a healthy, beautiful, baby boy!!!

Is there anything really brave about an autonomic function she has no control over... women have been having babies in fields like this for millenia. and some go right back to picking food
Martin, please show more respect. Why are you so sure you understand what this feels like? First, being an autonomic function does not make it easy - neither physically, nor emotionally. As for what women used to do - I wonder whether you could do what men used to be able to do, back in those times. I can tell you, though, that picking food kept the body in a particular shape and made labor a lot easier. Be a sport. They are a great team. Luckily, the husband was very supportive. Good for them!
