I Paint Underpants On Rocks To Criticize Nudity Censorship

Our bodies carry a huge burden of shame. Moral codes and social conventions confuse nudity with sex. In social media, modesty patrols often flag even pieces of art as plain pornography.
These urban interventions catch people’s attention by their playful colours and also point out how silly it is to automatically associate nudity with lust and shame. I believe the seed of sexualization of the human body is not in nudity, but in the urge to hide it. That’s why #OriginalSinProject was born.
By covering one object, I hide something invisible and expose everything around. My subjects are never isolated because they relate to their naked neighbours by taking people’s attention all to themselves and absolving the nakedness around them. In this context, passers-by won’t be surprised by nudity, but by the unexpected lack of it.

I think its both cute and relevant. The issues of shame, embarrassment, and fixation (porn) around genitals is important as to how we identify and treat each other intimately. There are several interesting articles on how modesty and shame fuel rape.

Discretion isn’t a synonym for shame
You’re right. Discretion is a choice. Shame is what happens when you are told that there’s only one right way to live your life.
Will somebody please also paint a top on that 3rd rock? It's breasts are showing!
Don’t worry. Those rocks were painted in Germany. “Stone/rock” in german language is a masculine substantive (der Stein), so showing some breast in this case might be considered “appropriate”. ;)
bullshit , everyone have not problem with a 20 somthing year old naked woman but nobody wants to see a 50-60 year old naked man or woman . so the whole talk about free nudity can stay like that as just talk because ain't not going to be ok if a naked man walks in the street near my kids school , that is why nudist community are for you like to be nude fine be nude but stick to your special community space and let my space free of your naked butt.
