Came home to find this boy on my terrace. He had worms, fleas, ear mites, a skin condition down his left side and gum disease in his mouth and was so hungry. He couldn’t eat dried cat food for the pain in his mouth. I took him to the vets for him to assess the cat. After the vet gave him a medical, treatment and a prescription for 6 weeks of antibiotics he was ready to come home. I asked the vet about his skin condition, but was totally horrified by his reply… He said it was a burn, in his medical opinion someone had tried to set fire to him!! How could anyone do such a cruel thing? He also had a big large scab on his nose. Which turned out to be cancer.
My mind was made up, I’d love and protect this boy so much.
Update… he had to have 4 teeth out which were rotten. The cancer on his nose hasn’t got any worse, which is great, this is checked regularly.
I feel so blessed that this beautiful boy walked onto my terrace 18 months ago. He is the most loving cat I know. I named him Bruiser 💙
The day he walked onto my terrace…
4 months later after all the treatment 💙
His forever home 💙
Thank you for your kind words 💙 Birgit I hope your kitty Ida has many years ahead of her too!
Thank you for saving him. Wishing you many happy years together. :) (He sure picked the right person!)
What a lucky and cute cat, and how good of you to save him! What a horrible experience he must have had! I have adopted an old cat a few months ago. She was abandoned on a busy street. When I had her examined, the vet said that she must have been kicked very hard because some of her ribs were somehow deformed. Her claws were way too long, her teeth were completely rotten, her ears were infected and she had a visible tumor on her head. She is also deaf. Her name is now Ida, she got all the necessary treatments and I think she‘s quite happy now. I wish you and your Bruiser all the best and I hope despite cancer that he will have a lot of time left with you!
