There are plenty of nature motifs in jewelry design and fashion, but there’s something special about having actual pieces of bark and moss or beautiful flowers in your accessories. Sarah Smith, the Oregon-based artist behind Modern Flower Child, creates hand-made resin bracelets, bangles, and earrings by forever preserving real feathers, colorful flowers, seashells, and other beautiful bits and pieces of nature in hard, crystal-clear resin.
She writes that it can take her 2-3 weeks to complete a single piece of her unique jewelry – “from design to pouring resin, curing, to shaping the piece.“ Fortunately, she does take custom orders and can create bracelets or bangles from plants or other decorative elements sent in by clients as well.

“This all started because I was looking for an antique piece that I could wear. I couldn’t find any so one thing led to another and I started making my own handmade jewelry,” Sarah Smith told Bored Panda. “Embedding blooming flowers in resin, plastic or Lucite is actually an old idea”
“The whole process is an immense amount of work and took tons of trial and error but seeing the finished product is totally cool! I don’t know how many times I have said ‘now that looks pretty!'”
“The flowers need to be completely dry before embedding them in resin so they do not brown. The drying process itself can take weeks before I can finally start to embed the flowers in the resin”
“One things I would like to make are ear gauges or plugs. I have been meaning to start but I have been kept so busy with the other jewelry that I just haven’t gotten around to it”
These bracelets are available on Etsy (Update: They’re sold out, but you can find similar crafts at this Etsy shop)

I have an idea just like that before. Sometimes i am afraid people who think the same way just what i think, but sometimes i am happy too.
Awesome, extremely creative! I want one like the 5th one from the bottom.
Why on earth would someone share a jewelers' work then tell you how to make it!?
WOw. They are amazing. What patience she must have. They are beautiful and I would wear them all. How to choose?
Great idea though some are nicer than others in my opinion. Love the tiny dark blue flowers and the one with the large leaves in it.
I love them! Wish I could do that. They'd be like wearable, seasonal time capsules. So much love.
Bridal bouquets, anniversaries, special moments and places are what I am thinking!
