My name is Monika and I am a Lithuanian girl, a self-taught artist that fell in love with manga (i.e. Japanese black & white comics) a looong time ago. At first it was only reading but eventually I was so caught up in it I started copying various characters and so began the development of my own style and hobby.

In the beginning, when I was at the start and a teenager, I was hiding this activity from public because I thought everyone will call it childish. However, with time I became very proud of my abilities! My drawing skills improved bit by bit every year and drawing became my escape from stress and negativity. I love what I do. ♥

In the long run I transferred my drawings from paper to walls and canvases. My ultimate objective is to finish a doujinshi (a manga that has other author characters) of mine which has more than 200 pages already and start drawing my own original story.

I know there is still a long way to go but I am confident I will not abandon this hobby – I will refine it instead as it saved me countless times. Lovely pandas, I would like to share with you the journey of my hobby!

I can’t stop myself from sketching – be it in pencil or a pen, I love it. The number of sketchbooks at my home is too high!

Sometimes I try to learn new things to draw but I still transfer bits of manga style in them.

I used to have a blank wall at my apartment. Not anymore!

This is my favorite character of a very talented manga artist – Arina Tanemura.

Huge pictures are a challenge and I love them!

I also accepted the challenge to draw on a canvas. This was my first attempt ever!

Manga style allows you to cross new fantasy boundaries. What you wouldn’t imagine happening in real life is no problem in the manga world.

This A3 drawing required 9 long hours starting from a sketch and ending with watercolors. I was informed about a contest and its deadline was the next day!

Chalk drawings on a wall are also very enjoyable.

I never went to an arts school. Every drawing you see here is my effort to improve.

I love what I do. I love the idea that you can create a story and show it to the whole world. The satisfaction I receive after a finished work is unbelievable!

Thank you very much for reading! Here’s a summer star for you. ☆
