What Lithuanian Police Officers Do On International Women’s Day

For the last couple of years, Lithuanian officers have been pulling women over for the most beautiful reason during International Women’s Day. Instead of giving ladies a ticket, they hand them flowers to celebrate the occasion.

The Internet seems to have mixed feelings about this initiative however. While some people think of it as a simple gesture of kindness shared between two human beings, others condemn these officers as patriarchs and their act as sexist. What do you think? One thing is for sure, the flowers have brought these women a sincere smile during the not so lovely rainy season this year, too!

Romanians policemen are doing this every year to. And not only they. In Romania, The International Woman Day is traditional to offer gifts to each woman in our life: mother, daughter, fiancee, girlfriend, niece, teacher, coworker, colaborator… is a very nice traditions. 61640109.jpg 61640109.jpg

In the UK community events and discussions are organised just for women. I missed it this year.

I have yet to come across a woman who thinks that a gift of flowers is termed as sexist. Perhaps the people that do think that has never received flowers and are just plain jealous!

Agreed. I'm not fond of cut flowers and I would never cut some myself or go buy some at the flower shop. But if anyone gives me even just one flower I'll be very happy and wear a huge smile for the rest of the day.
