The shelters are located in Nowa Huta (the easternmost district of Cracow, Poland), under the Stefan Żeromski Hospital.

Nowa Huta was started in 1949 as a separate town near Cracow on terrain taken by the Communist government from former villages of Mogiła, Pleszów and Krzesławice. It was planned as a huge center of heavy industry without churches. The district is famous for its architecture.

The hospital is more than 60 years old. Polish government decided to build it for the workers of Tadeusz Sendzimir (before Lenin) Steelworks and their families.

The shelters were quite spacious, you could find here four rooms but they were reorganized and now you can see only one room. Whole area is rather dark, dirty and messy. You can feel like in some kind of horror movie.

If you will be in Cracow, you should visit Nowa Huta.
