i’m so tired, tired of all this, the easy option taking tablets and going to sleep, that is wht i want more than anything in the world, but i have 4 children who totally depend on me and rely on me, how do i tell a child i dont want to live anymore, ive got everything i want, no one understands and i cant leave my children without their mother

Anna: I've suffered with major depression and anxiety for most of my life. Different things work for different people, but I agree with Drew who said that talk therapy helped him. Finding the right therapist has helped my change the way I think. And something useful that I've learned is that we are NOT our thoughts. Our emotions don't last forever. Please think about cognitive behavioral therapy. You can even find YouTube videos to watch. As someone who used to wake up every morning wishing I could just die, I can tell you that it CAN get better. Lastly, I saw a quote that kept me hanging on during my darkest days: "Suicide doesn't take away the pain, it gives it to someone else." Yes, your children love and need you so hang in there! <3
It always feels like no one understands, and they expect that you can "just get over it" it doesn't work that way. and on top of depression, we deal with tremendous anxiety issues which make it a thousand times worse. Like I said talking about it is one of the most useful tools I have found. I admire your strength for reaching out and posting here. Comments have limited space so I wont ramble much more. Maybe trying to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with, in a safe environment may help. It may take a couple attempts, but don't give up. Being outside helps, although it's hard to even get out.. I like to work with plants and animals, NOT people! the day is less stressful. I hope any of this helps :-) Stay Strong and hold on to Hope. Hi Anna, It's really tough for sure. Family usually don't want to hear it. Physical activities/hobbies do help. Medications are tricky. I've been on several, They work for a while, your body gets used to them, and they need to be added to or changed. Talking (therapy) has been VERY helpful for me. I cry EVERY DAY and don't want to be here anymore either. You are certainly not alone. I have a great family, home, job, girlfriend, exotic sportscar, (I'm not wealthy btw)....I don't get why I still feel like hopeless impending doom. Plus,the world has become an out of control fast paced place with the tech advancements of the past 20 years, We (People)have made life harder than it's EVER had to be. Nothing is calm and peaceful anymore. the world needs to relax. Do what you can to get up, get outside, and make a positive choice for each day. Anna, severe depression is an insidious disease , &, you don't sound like you have found the right antidepressant to be on, &, you may need residential treatment for tx.'s like transcranial magnetic stimulation . Depressed people often find exercise or yoga helpful . Getting started takes effort . Breaking this disease is within your control . I've seen it done , both with the right medication , & with baby steps of hard work .
