When A Truck Bumped This Russian Man’s Car, He Decided To “Fix” It In The Most Creative Way

Humans are a pretty resourceful bunch, especially when it comes to “fixing” stuff. Take this guy in Russia for example. When a truck hit his car in the Altai Republic near Kazakhstan and Mongolia, he didn’t take his vehicle to the garage to get the damaged door replaced. No. He decided to fix the problem himself. How? By taking a permanent marker pen and covering the unsightly dent with a detailed map of the region!

The truck driver paid for the damage he caused (there’s no mandatory vehicle insurance in Russia), and the design is only a temporary fix until the owner of the car can get the door replaced. We think he should leave it like it is though, and instead use the money to buy more pens so he can cover the rest of his car in maps! (h/t: designyoutrust)

Beautiful, but: "We think he should leave it like it is though, and instead use the money to buy more pens so he can cover the rest of his car in maps!" Eheh, yeah, but it's better to stay safe. ♥ A small damage can deteriorate and become a danger on the road.

My 2004 van was scratched all up years ago and never rusted. Some of the scratches were done by the kids and some from a sideswipe in a parking lot. I got a gouge down the side of my hubby's 2005 truck (dumpsters have protrudey bits, I didn't mean it!) and it only rusted in the very deepest bits. The scratches on this guy's car are more like what I had on my van, so I don't think he'll have rust problems with it. That door will probably suit for years to come, though the sharpie marker will probably wear away unless he puts a clear-coat on it (the clear-coat will also inhibit any potential rust). I bet the money paid for damages would cover the cost of a clear-coat.

Hope he keeps his door. If he's got a big enough garage it'd make cool wall art after he's got his replacement.

It's not true! There is mandatory car insurance in Russia! But some drivers prefer to pay money in small accidents, because of huge paper work and lots of time to be spent to get money from insurance company.

"there’s no mandatory vehicle insurance in Russia" - there is, check your facts. Nice post otherwise.
