With all these pictures of newborn babies, puppies, kittens and heck- even cameras wrapped up in the studio circulating around, Alicia of Alicia Nicole Wopereis Photography wanted to do something a bit different! After a model call for some ‘unique’ pets, she was introduced to Su the Fainting Goat, and her brand new baby Stu.

Stu was two weeks old at the time of the photo shoot- the same age range that Alicia recommends to photograph most human babies. Although goats don’t ‘curl up’ quite like most newborns, they are easy to coax to sleep the same way. “They have a pressure point right between their eyes that if you rub it, they tend to drift off peacefully into a slumber” Alicia explains. Stu’s human mom let Alicia know that Stu probably wouldn’t lay on his side or back for photos, so the angles were a bit limited. That didn’t stop Alicia from capturing her usual ‘newborn’ photographs using unique props, coloured wraps and getting those close up details.

What a fun shoot! Even goat mom Su got in front of the camera for a headshot :)
