To put it mildly, 2016 is a tough year even for expressing yourself. Painting a green Christmas tree is now a risky creative decision, because ‘hey, couldn’t you come up with something original, you rebel, independent, emancipated meme lover?’.

And words are tricky too. One does not simply write a Christmas wish without seeking inspiration on Billboard Top 100 songs in the week of December 3, 2016. Music enables communication, they say.
