6 years ago I started a project which is still in progress called Soapbubble Studies. For me soap bubbles are a metaphor for the impermanence and fragility of life. They also add some surreal aspects to landscape photography. The shooting itself turned out quite exhausting in most cases, especially in the Dolomites where we´ve been dragging up liters of soap bubble liquid plus equipment up to mountains around 3000 meters high.
But I think it´s been worth the effort. They most likely never behave like I wish them to behave but that´s part of it and I see it as an exercise to let go of control and see what happens. So far the series have been taking place in the moroccan desert, in various places in Austria ,Italy and Spain and hopefully soonish in Iceland.
