It has been over a year since I discovered and fell in love with Pusheen, the delightfully quirky cat created by the brilliant artist Claire Belton and Andrew Duff. Since then, Pusheen has become my muse for creating fan art that combines her iconic image with elements of zentangle and mandalas.
As an amateur artist, my focus is simply the relaxation of putting pen to paper. Imperfections in my art happen organically, but rather than trying to “fix” them, I incorporate them into the art. My first Pusheen inspired drawing was the result of transforming a flawed zentangle into something new and unexpected. Some of my lines are crooked, but to me they make the piece unique and beautiful. Just like life.
