My husband didn't want a dog in the house; they smell, dirty everything, dribble and poo were ever! Guest who sleep's with the dog? Not only does he nap with her, but he also calls everyday when his away from home to have the lasted news of his little girl, the Shih Tzu. Unbelievable!

So here's the secrect- and the real reason we Dads complain and grouse about how we don't want you to bring a doggo into our home is that we anticipate the heartbreak that animal's passing in 10, 12 years will cause & that is something we don't want you to suffer through. We waited almost a year & a half after our 6th Dane passed away. It was the emptiest feeling not having a dog in the house. This past Nov. we welcomed a new pup. Life is better with dogs, always.

We lost 3 dogs in 6 months, the last 2 two days apart. Killed us. Husband never wanted another dog, no dog could be as good as his precious Daisy. We have two fabulous rescues, Cody is a therapy dog and Cocoa is my hubbies sweetheart.

My Dad is a hard man. A labourer all his life, hard work and tough as boots. But my 3yr old Black Lab has him wrapped around his little dew claw and each time he visits, the cuddles and pats are getting longer... :) Big love for them both.....

my stepfather never wanted a dog- it was "me or the dog" kind of attitude, and 5 years ago my mom just came back home with wiener dog puppy, I don't have any pictures but now they go for walks, play inside, tease... yeah he "hates" the dog obviously :D

I don't think its the fact that they all hate dogs(maybe some) but I think the main reason why is that they don't want that emotional attachment. well, that's what my dad always said. "it becomes a part of your family and when it passes away 15 + years down the road, it will be devastating. its easier to not have the connection in the first place".

These photos are too sweet that they teared me up, I remember when I brought a cat and my dad, may his soul rest in peace, was angry about. the second day I saw him giving my cat food and water and he even rubbed his back... I was like: what are you doing dad, he smiled and said: he's too cute
