This is an example of one of the wire knitting patterns I have designed using gold plated copper jewellery wire & swarovski elements crystals.

The knitting pattern will make the wire automatically twist to the left, to create the helix effect, there is no manipulating of the wire afterwards, and the knitted piece will retain its shape. The pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter.

The size of the necklace will depend on your tension, a tight knitter will produce a slightly smaller knitted piece, but as it is jewellery, the tension/size is less significant.

You will need around 35 metres of 0.25mm or 30 gauge coloured copper jewellery wire in the colour of your choice – From years of making wire jewellery, I find this is the best gauge for knitting and crocheting with. It’s flexible/thin enough to not hurt your fingers when knitting, but is also strong and retains it’s shape once knitted/crocheted.

I sell this pattern on its own or you can buy the full kit which contains everything you need to make the finished piece.

If you have a passion for knitting and an obsession for jewellery, this is the perfect combination!
