Purchased this wine barrel from a local winery for about $50! Took it home and the work began
Used a jig saw to form a door…
Removed said door and began to wargame how to hinge it…
This turned out to be very tricky and required a lot of trial and error. Initially I used too small hinges which quickly fell off from the weight of the heavy door
I next installed larger industrial sized hinges which supported the weight but required me to etch out a larger space near where it swings out
I left the original plug in place and secured it with some industrial strength glue and then secured a small security latch to keep the door shut securely
And the finished product!
