Hello. My name is Monique Wilson from Edmonton Alberta.

In 2010 I was diagnosed with a rare balance disorder – MdDS – that leaves me feeling like I am walking on a waterbed while everything around bobs and sways. I am no longer able to work and in the early years I was really struggling with finding something to fill my days and give me a sense of accomplishment.

Shortly after my diagnosis, my husband gave me a camera as a birthday gift and I’ve been in love with photography ever since. I am self taught and still have so much to learn but I am enjoying the process so very much.

Some days however I am not well enough to leave home but still have the desire to shoot something. So I started shooting minis. Little cars and recently a tiny little bear. The smallest is the bear at one inch and the biggest is about 4 inches long.

I love creating whimsical magical images with my minis. Most of them were shot on top of my deck railing or on top of my dining room hutch. The magic is created with layering other images I’ve shot and with Photoshop. Each image takes me hours to plan out and edit and it’s truly a labour of love.

I hope you enjoy them!
