30 Extremely Weird Real Estate Listings Shared By “Zillow Gone Wild” Interview With Author
Zillow is a holy database of “more than 110 million US homes for sale, for rent, and those ones that are not even on the market.” Now, keeping in mind this number, imagine the chances of stumbling across a property listing that transgresses the borders of common sense, practicality, and something as basic as taste. You say high? We say, tremendous.
Thanks to the new fan-favorite Instagram page “Zillow Gone Wild,” we now have this hand-picked collection of seriously odd real estate findings that'll make you look twice, thrice, and think of something nice to say about it. Because many times, money can get you a mansion, but it won’t buy you taste.
525,000 followers are in for a daily treat of zillionaire-approved Zillow listings and trust me, each one seems better than the previous one. From the real-life Flintstones house and mushroom house unit to a $399,900 house featuring all the planet’s windows, and a roof house that looks how it sounds, 100% pure roof, the listings are ready for some cringe treatment.

It looked just fine til the pool reveal. I like David Bowie as much as the next person, but really don’t want him looking up at me while I swim, if you know what I mean.
Bored Panda reached out to the creator behind the “Zillow Gone Wild” Instagram page, who prefers to stay anonymous and let their project speak for itself. The idea came after they noticed a lot of weirdly interesting homes out there on Zillow, “like homes with bowling alleys, indoor pools, jail cells.” The author said that “one particular home had a mining shaft,” which took the craziness to a whole new level.
The creator believes that such unusual home designs are the result of a “combination of taste and money.” “In these more rural areas, it seems cheaper and more feasible to do different things too. But it seems like the more eclectic the object is, the harder it should be to sell it.”
“For me, it’s been fun to see all the interesting homes that are out there. I’m surprised at how many people have built actual castles and how many insanely large mansions there are in places like Utah and Ohio.”

And when it comes to their followers, the author of “Zillow Gone Wild” said that the page is still pretty new and constantly evolving, but people come in for the “surprise” of crazy home selections. “So I basically try to give them that kind of experience with the carousel format,” they said.
As for the strangest listing the creator of the page has seen so far, they said it was “this one with all the strawberries in the bunkers.” Meanwhile, to the question of whether they'd like to live in such an insane Zillow villa, the Instagrammer answered jokingly: “I’d worry about having to vacuum all of that space.”

So much money spent. Soooo much bad taste.
Another reminder that money doesn't buy taste. lol I love these! I'm currently getting my home ready to sell and when it seems overwhelming, I just think of these listings and tell myself "could be worse."
Shows that people have NO taste!
It's fine to decorate to one's fantasies to live there, but for listing they really should have neutralized and decluttered.
Orrr, they have taste and we don’t lol.
Yeah, that could also be the case.
Location, location, location. Some of those homes are HUGE, and going for under $1 million. Meanwhile, in my quiet suburban neighborhood in California, single story 2 bedroom ranch homes sell for $2 million.
Rob Chapman haha
U should see Auckland NZ, I'm not kidding houses have gone mental, the knock on effect is hitting all our towns now with houses selling up to several hundred k easy over the asking in my neighbourhood :(
Yes, the housing market in California is insanely high, especially around San Francisco. I hate to think of what's gonna happen there when it all goes bust.
These made me so anxious and uneasy. Horrible interior in most of them, no taste at all.
This world truly is amazing. It already has every natural resource for us all to live, thrive, and create. Yet money was created to control and regulate these resources. Dividing us up into the haves and have nots. When it doesn't have to be that way. Just goes to show you how one human being can ruin it for the rest of us.
Many of these houses just need fresh paint and updated furniture and they'd be great homes.
And a ton of clutter hauled off!
Alright we get it you're Persian
lol I was waiting to see this comment after half the posts started with "As a Persian..."

A lot of these houses look like they got stuck in the 70's. They probably had older owners.
My mum's parents had s big 70s house like that, still with black velvet paintings and floors with all sorts of levels...madness
Hard to believe people actually live in some of these.
There’s a lot of stuff. If you want to buy one, I think a renovation would make it perfect. 👌
It seems America is so vast Amercans have houses in the middle of nowhere. I personally would feel very unccomfortable living in a sparsely populated area. No neighbors in 30m radius? No, thanks.

This place up the street from me needs to be on this list; https://www.redfin.com/CA/Los-Osos/2743-Rodman-Dr-93402/home/49859513
That is fabulous, but the attempted 'dungeon' room with the gray tarp looking fabric ceiling would have to go immediately! That's just creepy & makes it look dirty.
Money ≠ Taste
wait a minute - I just call fixer upper ... can´t keep watching it XD
Thanks, I already feel my guts rumbling!
Bad taste hoarders is what I see.
Need to see more pictures of the houses shown here.
Most of what is weird in these pictures has nothing to do with the houses. People's furniture and belongings should be cleared out.......if the real goal is to sell the property. The realtors involved with these listings have done a great disservice to their clients by posting these photos.
So...confused
It's awesome to see what people's tastes are and to see how they would decorate their homes. I guess if the owners were desperate to sell, they would have cleared out the homes. Perhaps they wanted to attract a similar eccentric character [:
This whol post is called 'too much money, too little taste'.
Most of these aren't that bad as far as the house goes. The decor is the issue but if you picture the rooms stripped down, they're fine.
I wonder what sort of upbrining these folks experienced?
So, today I learned people with a lot of extra money laying around have bad taste
I feel sorry for the people who have to keep places like these clean (paid or not)
All of these made me uncomfortable. Lesson learned for next time.
I'd live in some of these places tbh
In my humble opinion, all of these are too much, and some of them are just not somewhere I think most sane would want to live.
My eyes... they BURN. People who buy giant beautiful houses should be legally obligated to take a class on how to decorate them properly without any taxidermy animals, dolls, or wallpaper
I just wanted to clarify, are you a Persian? lol
Worried how many people thought they were nice houses..
A lot of these look like someone with absolutely no taste won the lottery and went berserk. Which will be me if I ever win it.

good lord. some of these dwelling are just incredibly tacky. Wealth without cultural substance or a sense of taste and style is not always a good combo.
I went to Graceland once. This is like revisiting it.
