Parents usually play the crucial role in teaching their children the most crucial lessons that help us develop as individuals and remain deeply rooted even when we’re adults and have a stack of experiences from different people. I feel the need to print this out and hang it up somewhere visible, maybe even frame it
I was with her about not having to put up with dickheads, but she lost me when it got to the garbage SJW white supremacist, patriarchy stuff. That's taking it way too far and is harmful. She literally said she has reasons to always feel "uncomfortable". So basically the world is bad and she has a reason to alway be a victim if she chooses. At that point my attitude changed to "suck it up" because she will only give credence to one side of the issue. Learning to deal with the world as it already is is also a vital skill and I fear she's telling people it's not needed.

My mum always taught me that I should call her if I ever felt uncomfortable in a situation so she could pick me up. On a side note, that lady kinda looks like Zooey Deschanel
Meanwhile, my mother taught me that if I don't feel comfortable, I make it comfortable. For myself, and so I don't miss any experiences.

Thank you for being strong enough to look beyond your personal boundaries and reach out to those who do not have their own boundaries and no one to teach them about personal boundaries. Thank you Thank you Thank you. There are not enough people like you speaking out... Yet... :)

I agree to a certain point about "it's ok to leave when you're uncomfortable". But sometimes you need to stay in the situation and face it, conquer it. I compete in boxing. My daughter has seen me from the beginning getting my a*s kicked in the ring, sometimes by bigger people, once by a teenager with "6th Grade Field trip" on her tshirt. I stuck through my sparring and did not get out of the ring until my coach told me to. I've won my last 4 fights, became a Golden Gloves champion this year. And I still get my a*s kicked in sparring. However, my daughter is proud of me and I think I set a good example for her. We both use what we learn in boxing in real life. My daughter also knows I am there for her and will pick her up anytime of night. We know not all situations should be tolerated. But to get out as soon as a situation isnt comfortable isnt always good either.
Omg if I could have known I was allowed to leave bad relationships before being hit or cheated on that would have been amazing
I understand that you could be uncomfortable but I trully think that sometimes, instead of running away, you must fight back. You can't always be the one who run away ! Sometimes, you have to learn how to deal with uncomfortable situation.
Step one. Listen to one self. Don’t ignore being unfomfortable. React on it. And as a child, learning to know it’s ok to walk away, is one way to learn not to be a polite victime. That last part are from a ask-tread on reddit.com, how to protect one self.

Cruel people should not be rewarded, but I do think there are more mature ways to deal with bullies. I do agree that in a situation like that they should be sent home, but sitting on the curb is a bit much.
Her mother made the bullies wait in the living room until they got picked up. This was 100% the correct thing to do. She stopped the bullying, listened to her own kid when she said she didn't want them in her house, made sure that the others knew what they did was wrong, and gave them back to their own parents to deal with. ...///... This was absolutely the right thing to do. It was the MOST mature way to deal with bullies that I've ever seen.

Suicide? Mental institute? The world isn't all rainbows and butterflies, quite the opposite. If you won't toughen up you are at disadvantage. You are allowed to leave... Bye
I was with her until she started talking about patriotic capitalism and white supremacy. I don't get why all you bored panderers pander to people who say this insane s**t.
Friends don’t bully or tease you. Teaching someone that they can leave toxic relationships is one of the best things to teach someone
