30 Celebrities Photoshopped Side-By-Side With Their Younger Selves Show How Aging Has Changed Them (New Pics)
Dutch graphic designer Ard Gelinck makes time travel possible. At least, for popular celebrities. Gelinck has been photoshopping famous people as if they're hanging out with their younger selves, and the side-by-side comparisons come out so cool, you can't help but wonder if some of his subjects have them framed.
Gelinck has worked on these photomontages for about 10 years now, but it doesn't look like he's running out of ideas. On the contrary. The graphic designer continues to delight his 258K Instagram followers with regular photo comparisons. The graphic designer said he's always trying to challenge himself when it comes to Photoshop. "The 'Then and Now' series is quite old when you consider that me and my brother made the first image for it about 10 years ago," Gelinck told Bored Panda. "About 5 years ago, I edited pictures for a lot of Dutch celebrities and it was a success, so I then started working with foreign celebrity photos. The first one was Madonna, and she even posted my image on her own Instagram."
The Queen of Pop, however, isn't the only Gelinck subject who has publicly admired his work. Rob Lowe, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Annie Lennox, BeeGees, Jason Priestly, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Carice van Houten, Sylvester Stallone, Robbie Williams, Michael Douglas, Ricky Gervais, and many more have also given him a shoutout. "When I think about it, the list is quite impressive," Gelinck said.

When the Photoshop wizard is composing the pictures, he's often trying to make the subject and their former self embrace one another, be it an arm on the shoulder on a hug. "[The actual pose] depends on a lot of things. I'm trying to find one where they're standing next to each other."
The graphic designer thinks that his project has become so popular because people enjoy taking a trip down memory lane and remember the celebrities when they were young. Each of Gelinck's images is like a shot of nostalgia that brings back past moments of enjoying music chart hits, TV shows, and movies.

Dolly Parton is such an amazing lady. She loves children and has dedicated so much time and energy to charity. Plus, her amusement park Dollywood is the best! It's in Tennessee, you must go there before you die. Oh, and on a side note, Dolly Parton's family used to be really poor when she was little.

Lol. It's easy to tell the difference, one is a natural face, the other has stretched out surgically (that's the one on the right, btw). If anything has 'done her well', it's her ability to afford a lot of plastic surgery. It hasn't done her well at all though imo, her face looks bizarrely mask-like on the right.

Not so keen on her music, but she's cheeky wee imp of a woman. That's hard to resist. She also remembers where she came from, but doesn't bang on about it all the time. I don't think I've ever heard anyone doing an "Ellen" style reveal of her personality. She's comes across as a very complete person, authentic to herself without apology. For all of that, I like the woman immensely. As for her heart, it's definitely in the right place, her Imagination Library charity is such a fantastic thing. Reading is so important in many way, but fictional books (thrills, adventures, investigations ...) often aren't even on the list when it comes to the budgeting when you're poor. Getting a free book every month itself is great but, for kids especially, getting a package in the post - just for them - is exciting. Such a lovely gift.

As waterlily replied to JessG, Dolly openly admits to plastic surgery, and I believe botox and fillers and all that mess. As long as it doesn’t affect her voice, I don’t think anyone will mind. But she’s a total comedian at times, and I think she’s said all the work should keep her going for years more!! But I agree, we want her around forever!!
