Having real-life contradictions is what makes us human. That is one of the reasons why it is so challenging to put all humanity in one box of understanding.
If you have been here at Bored Panda for a while, you might have seen that there is no one better at noticing and illustrating these mind-bending ideas of contradictions than the Moscow-based illustrator Gudim Anton. He is well known for creating short comic books full of visual puns and quirks that offer a fresh perspective on the modern world.

Anton has also created an account on Instagram called “Yes, But” that now has over 600k followers. It includes only two-panel comics telling ironic short stories based on our current society and its values.
We were wondering if the artist’s view was any different than it was in the beginning. Anton shared: “The topics that I began to raise have changed + the world itself is also changing. Many problems that were relevant before have lost their relevance, on the other hand, new ones have appeared. I would like to say that my comics have become more positive, but looking at my recent work, I can't say that.”

This is part 5 of the artist's comics, and we are sure it is not the last. We were wondering if these comics had personally influenced the artist.
“I think it's more accurate to say that I'm the one who influences the comics, not the comics influence me. Every comic is, in some way, a reflection of me at the moment. Even the fact that I chose this particular topic for drawing, and not another, characterizes me in some way.”
A paper straw, but wrapped in plastic! So much for reducing plastic waste!
Observation is the key to finding these fun and sometimes absurd contradictions. The artist has trained to see the world through a "yes, but" prism. We asked how his comics made the artist feel about humanity.
“I have been observing these contradictions for years, it so happened that I found a comic format with which it is convenient for me to talk about these contradictions. It is important that people adopted this format and began to use it themselves, sending me their observations. The world is full of contradictions. Of course, since I began to reflect on this in comics, I began to notice more and more contradictions.”
And lastly, we asked if there are any contradictions Anton constantly repeats himself. “This is a very good question, it got me thinking. I think that the main and most frequent contradiction in everyday life is to do what you do not want because it is necessary. If you think about how many things we do without pleasure, you can be very surprised.”
I don't understand why people want giant windows Infront of their bathtub? Even in rural areas it is relatively easy to look in. On the second floor? Grab some binoculars and you're set! I would be much too paranoid about some creep to enjoy the view.

I've been married twice and both my husbands always helped clear the table and do all the dishes. Just be upfront about what you expect. I love to cook but the clean up is not included.
I feel like I'm missing whatever point this is trying to make. Like....he pays for service out but expects it for free at home? Well, no one pays their spouse for doing chores unless you count couples where only one of them works and the other tends to the housework.
I am a racist, sexist, & bigot. Whenever I get good service from a minority, woman, or LGBTQ+ member, I make sure to tip exceptionally well. I figure they can use the extra b/c of the c**p they face from other customers who aren't so kind to them.
It's not about the cooking, it's about not cleaning after himself, and let the wife do it.

Lol. This reminds me of a Yoruba proverb. "Tie the wrapper around your butts, or roll your butts around the wrapper. The method doesn't matter, as long as the butts are covered." (Not the best translation) So, it doesn't matter how you hold your cups or utensils, as long as you get the job done.
In fairness this could be a safety issue. It could be that there are no good or even decent cycling paths around where they live.

A lot of these just come across as pointlessly judgemental... I get that they're supposed to make us think about things from another perspective, but who hasn't already done this by about 20? Like, they're just not that mind-blowing.
I came down here to write this as well. Most of these aren't funny; just really judgemental. Overly preoccupied with other people's behavior, but in a needlessly haughty way.

These are all kinda stupid, especially the vegan one. I also bite off the dead skin around my nails but I don't eat it.
I understood this was just judgemental s**t from someone who needs to get off their high horse the moment they went "Yes, but..." on a vegan biting their skin. That's a special level of judgemental a*****e.
Well I wasted 5 minutes of my life. These have no point and are judgemental and not even clear about the point they are attempting to make.
