With the wedding season in full swing, many of us are excited to witness how two people venture on a journey together through life. We're eager for elegant ceremonies and magical moments, and we expect to cherish these memories for years to come. But in the real world, weddings are far from the dazzling and perfect affairs many of us imagine. Because you see, some couples seem to go out of their way to show everyone that taste really is a matter of preference.
To prove that some celebrations of love look like anything but fairy tales, members of the 'Trashy' subreddit shared snaps of the wild and tasteless things they’ve ever spotted at a wedding. With the tagline, "All things Trashy!", this online community has set out on a mission to expose the low-class nuptial disasters.
From outrageous invitations to mothers-in-law who turn up in bridal gowns, we at Bored Panda wrapped up a compilation of photos that vividly illustrate how bad things can get. Continue scrolling, upvote the ones you loved hating the most and be sure to share your own stories with us in the comments! And if you think you can handle even more wedding horror stories, check out our earlier publications about nightmare wedding guests and the most shame-worthy wedding examples.

Imagine Having Your Wedding In A National Forest, Then Vandalizing Said Forest
Bride Ties Her 1 Month Baby To The Back Of Her Wedding Dress
Bride Cancels Wedding Because Her Guests Didn't "Donate" $1500 Each To Fund Her Wedding
This woman desperately needs a mental health intervention. She obviously has feelings of inadequacy which can only be soothed by constant attention.
I love my friends. I don't however have a spare $1500 laying around to give them so they can play princess for a day
I do but I still wouldn't give it to some self entitled B like that. I would be inclined to send a thank you note saying thank you for showing your true colors and thank you for removing yourself from my life.
Load More Replies...I really wonder what the groom was thinking. I would call off the wedding for other reasons. I love how it was called off on FB.
I love seeing this one pop up every now and again. Wonder what she's doing now and if she regrets her behaviour?
Why do so many seem so eager to attribute this to some kind of mental health issue? This kind of entitled outburst is becoming increasingly common...pretty much everywhere, for everything. More and more people seem to think they're entitled to have their demands met, their ego's stroked, their feelings coddled, and if they don't...well then it's evidence that everyone else is evil, or bad or at the very least wrong. Some people are just horrible because they're horrible people, not because they have some underlying mental health issue.
I think this is what is going to do in the whole over-the-top glitzy 500-guest wedding industry: no one can afford to go, much less wants to in the first place.
Load More Replies...I don't think it's wrong to ask for a donation in lieu of gifts, but this is NOT the way you go about it. Not sure when this was originally posted, but damn, Covid changed a lot financially for many people and this is beyond selfish to demand $1500 or nothing. Maybe if friends and family were able to donate what they could, the outcome would've been better. Idk, maybe this woman was always one of those people you wouldn't give 2 nickels to regardless, but the balls on this woman are huge!
I remember this one. Her "dream" was to "be a Kardashian for a day." Somewhere along the way in her planning she forgot what weddings are actually for. She ended up alienating all her friends, and her fiance dumped her.
When she typed she was living her life alone - please, someone tell me the would be groom dodged a bullet and didn’t walk but ran from this woman. “Just give me the money?” WOW. I don’t know where I would begin (everything from all the more important things 1500 would cover in a post pandemic recovery, to answers I am to polite to type here.). NOT to mention the vocabulary she used. Just wow ….
This is just the tip of the iceberg of an entitled Bridezilla story! It started in 2018 on facebook, made it to twitter, and then here on BP 3 years ago, and popped up again on reddit a year ago, hahaha! It's kind of a long read, but soooo worth the time! OH, and she took off to Africa for a 2 month long backpacking trip, left her child at home. SMH. https://www.boredpanda.com/wedding-disaster-bride-asks-guests-1000-donation/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic
Nah, if I were one of her friends, I wouldn't 'own' her. I didn't cough up the $1500 to claim ownership.
I think I know why she needs that much money (she needs a lot of mental help)
The entitled generation. All of us, our money, attention, life, generosity must revolve around them. Be cautious you have them in your life, you just don't know it or are willing to see it. They use emotional manipulation to extract money, attention, gifts, food, from you. Pause and think about it. You're someone's piggybank.
If you demand it, it's not a donation; it's a fee. Oh, and what's with the I, I, I? A wedding is usually about TWO individuals.
I guess i’m just a crazy old lady but, DAMN! I’ve never heard of actually asking potential weddings guests to donate money to fund Your wedding/honeymoon! am i just nuts or are these whackadoodle people who ask this??
What an entitled whiner! I don't even give that much to a child for his wedding!
The DSM 6 will most likely list Entitlement as a mental health disorder when it's published. In the meantime, the CDC should investigate because it seems to be growing to epidemic proportions.
The "friends" who didn't donate are lucky to be cut off. I'd like to know how many people gave her the money.
I haven't had $1,500 all at once in years, not to mention just laying around to donate to some entitled demoniac's wedding. Go ahead and cut me off you virulent vamp. What good intentions do you believe those "who you will let in", have.? Gosh! Your behavior is unthinkable and your reactioni s...I have no words. I'd wish you well, but I'm sure my definition and yours are galaxies apart.
My guess is that this is not the first temper tantrum that she's had. Surely, there were previous signs of this type of entitlement. I'm surprised that anyone would have agreed to go to her wedding. And . . . who would want to marry such a "princess?"
Hey, This is a great opportunity to donate for a one way ticket out of the country, Act now !
How utterly narcissistic, entitled and downright selfish. I hope she loses all her friends.
Well after that I would expect you to have to live your life alone..... geez
Like holy effin WOW. This bride should take whatever money she DID receive and seek therapy NOW!
Id say No, i cant to the wedding even when you sent me an invite bc I cannot afford the 1500$ ticket.
Here’s an idea: If you can’t afford to have a big fancy wedding, don’t have a big fancy wedding. Have a smaller wedding or put it off until you can afford it. Or would that be too easy???
What a total b****! Who has $1,500.00 to give away for something someone else doesn't need, but simply wants (I totally understand people who can afford to making sizable charitable donations). Even those of us who seem well off often don't have much for discretionary spending.
This is weird it's your parents that pay for the wedding how did she manage to get this confused on that unless it's her third wedding or something. But usually it's the brides parents that foot the bill.
These n*bs want something grand and lavish, but no! No working for it, no planning, no effort! Gimme gimme gimme. Trashy is an understatement.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA hold on a sec, hold on, let me breath, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Wedding receptions be expensive. You're going to drink, eat and make merry celebrating her wedding, Well it all costs. So deliver the money, cheapskate.
Since 2012, the 'Trashy' online group has amassed over 2.8 million members. A few thousand people scroll through the page at any given time and are always on the lookout for some juicy pictures to pop up at the top. The moderators stated that this is a humor subreddit where they forbid bullying or toxic behavior. Moreover, they don’t allow heated discussions about social and political topics, explaining that you’re not going to change the world by arguing in a place where people laugh at drunk people making fools of themselves in public.
According to the moderators, this is a perfect place for people to poke fun at "trashy stories, trashy glamour, all things fake, plastic, and downright trashy, low-class, no-class, white trash, bimbos, and damn proud." Those looking after the page also added that posts on the group need to be funny, and they need to be a celebration of trashiness. "If it makes you angry then it doesn’t belong here," the moderators added.

But this does beg the question, what does trashy actually mean? Well, the internet meme database Know Your Meme stated that the term trashy is used in a derogatory way to describe something extremely low-quality or inappropriate. "It is used as an antonym of 'classy' and typically refers to human behavior that is undesirable. Someone who is considered 'trashy' or behaving in such a manner typically exhibits selfish or grotesque actions with no remorse, especially when being inconsiderate," they explained.

Weddings Are Fun
Wearing This Dress To A Wedding
Since the wedding season is here to provide members of this online community with plenty of content, they don’t waste a second and share their hilarious snaps online. Although it’s important to note that taste is subjective — what is trashy to one person may be stylish to another! Moreover, we’re well aware that there is no such thing as a flawless wedding. You may have spent hours meticulously planning your big day, hoping everything to be perfect with a capital P. But the truth is, some things are simply out of your control. Whether it’s the caterer that canceled at the last minute or the ignorant plus ones who drink the open bar dry, some minor mishaps are simply unavoidable.
From A Bridal Facebook Group: Praying With All The Single Women Find A Man
"At our nephews wedding today. The bride offered a special gesture... Instead of throwing a bouquet toall the single girls, she took apart her bouquet and handed each girl a flower and prayed with each girl, to wait on the man that God has for them"
I like the idea of handing out parts of the bouquet to everyone but nah you keep your prayers and Jesus to yourself there lady.

Inviting 20 Extra People To A Wedding
Allison Jackson, the owner of the Pineapple Productions, mentioned that it’s important to remember that your celebration speaks directly to your heart. "A wedding should be personal and reflective of the couple — their stories, shared interests, family backgrounds, personal styles and travels — versus something built on recycled ideas from other weddings," she explained. "I encourage couples to draw inspiration from the stories of how they met, what they did on their first date, and how they became engaged. It’s easy to find a few details from those stories that naturally translate into fun and unique elements on the wedding day."

Agree with shaming a lot of this, but if a woman doesn't want to wear a bra, no matter what size she is, she shouldn't have to.
Another thing to keep in mind is the people you want to share these unique moments with. "Focus on the touch points that allow guests to be present throughout the weekend," Beth Helmstetter, a creative director at Beth Helmstetter Events advised. "For instance, if your ceremony has the possibility of being too hot or cold, make sure to address those issues with blankets, fans, and water. For the reception, always make sure you have enough servers and bartenders. If guests aren’t able to get a drink or wait too long for their meal, it doesn’t matter how beautiful or fun your wedding is. Guests will be focused on their needs not being met and they won’t be able to enjoy the celebration as you’ve intended them to."

Being This Drunk At Your Own Wedding
Most importantly, make sure you enjoy the experience and try to have fun! After all, people sometimes see their big day as the final destination when, in reality, it’s only the beginning of a long and exciting journey together. But if some things don’t go as planned, remember there’s always humor to be found in even the most unfortunate situations. So if you have a weird and amusing story to tell, don’t be shy and share your adventures with us in the comments.

I just don't understand this weird obsession with mothers of the groom, trying and failing, to out do the bride on her wedding day.
like you, i can't comprehend why it would even be attempted.
Load More Replies...So many grooms in daily or work attire.... it almost looks like they want to say, "not my idea this, but had to show up".
The grooms who don’t dress accordingly, where the bride does, clearly show no interest nor have any respect to make an effort. That’s kind of trashy.
Load More Replies...A bunch of these pictures are "Hey, look at these people going casual at their wedding", and while I admit that, for me, a wedding is a formal thing, maybe it isn't that way for everybody. Their wedding doesn't have to please me. It only has to please THEM. I think it would be awful for someone to say "This style isn't really 'me', but it's what everybody else expects, so that's what I'll do." Nah, mate. You do you.
I agree if they both are, but I think if only the groom is, it seems less like something they both agreed on and more like a lack of effort/investment.
Load More Replies...Is it odd that "white trash" is still a perfectly acceptable racial slur?
Not so sure about the racial part, but I find it really awful since no person anywhere should be called "trash" or "garbage" just for their living- and financial situation! Or even their taste. "Trash"-people are those who hurt animals, murder people for fun, rape people or take huge bribes to ruin a country.
Load More Replies...I think I prefer most of these weddings to the overblown, perfect, humorless, bridezilla fantasy ego-fests costing mountains of money.
The amount of judgemental nonsense here about how people choose to celebrate their relationships is bizarre.
I guess this is a personal thing, getting married and all.... I'm not sure why we should judge or shame others for their chosen way of celebrating (except the maga c**p, this should always be discouraged imo)
Agreed. About the maga: I would discourage that especially because it takes the happy day away from the couple and makes it about some other person who is not even there and couldn't care less about their existence. Same as a wedding themed to Putin, or even to Jesus Christ or some other god-thought entity. Weddings (at least those in western culture) are supposed to be about the bride and groom and a bit about the family. Not about the money or the fame or some other person who gets a cake in their likeness. You'll be placed as second (or even last) fiddle your whole life, statistically. Don't put yourself in that position on what is supposed to be the happiest day of your life!
Load More Replies...I gave up looking less than half way through. Tacky and tasteless on the whole.
I usually click on the original image amount to see all the pics on a thread, but I'd rather not for this one.. I honestly can't see anymore!
#36... the skunk cake one.... Is... Does the bouquet consist of a walrus baculum?
I don’t understand how #10 is trashy? If the single women were not looking for a relationship, I imagine they wouldn’t be included in her gesture.
First, it's not VOWELS...it's VOWS...buy a dictionary, look it up. Second, the really disgusting ones are the TRUMPERS...cake, guy in shorts has TRUMP socks, woman with MAGA dress. Did Donny finance their wedding?? These people are so tasteless...they must have not gotten their covid shots and can't taste anything anymore. Geez, don't show these anymore. All TRASH!!! And lady with the baby, I hope child protection got involved
