According to scientists, up to 70K nerve endings are concentrated in the human foot - and about all of them are activated when we step on a Lego brick. This is really damn painful, and humanity should only be grateful to the Danish businessmen that they established their toy brand about the time the Inquisition stopped using torture.
Moreover, we are almost sure that if the International Chamber of Weights and Measures wanted to establish a special unit for painful sensations, then it could well be "one Lego". And yet, according to some people, there are feelings and things that are way more unpleasant.
There is a popular thread in the AskReddit community whose author - apparently "inspired" by a bad stepping - once asked "What's worse than stepping on a Lego?" As of today, the thread has nearly 4K upvotes and over 7.2K comments listing both funny and really tragic stuff.

"Watching Your Older Sister Have A Brain Aneurysm At 20 And Die In 10 Minutes"? Oddly specific and, also, in an entirely different category than "Stepping on a Lego." Not trying to be completely rude, but - seriously - just go get a therapist and stop mucking up the light-hearted posts with all the sympathy-seeking, heavy BS. Some people just need a fun distraction from their own s**t.
couldn't have said it better myself. although i feel sympathy for these people & wish they didn’t have to experience the heartache they've gone through, they seriously need to grasp the definition of context & learn when it's appropriate to share these sorts of things. no s**t, of course losing a loved one is more painful than stepping on a lego! nobody is doubting your pain! but people aren't here to read about your deepest darkest traumas, they're here to have a funny discussion about minor inconveniences. these people need therapy not only as an outlet for them to vent about the struggles they've faced, but also to deal with their inappropriate & obnoxious desire for others to approve of & validate their experiences.

Working in a call centre and someone comes on the phone, regardless if it's outbound or inbound and now you know you have to talk to someone who's likely not happy. That hits you in the gut pretty hard. I'm glad I'm leaving this job in a week and a half. I swear I'm gonna get an ulcer or something. See? The feeling is mutual.
Does BoredPanda edit their listicles anymore? Some of these took a really dark turn and were pretty damn disturbing....stepping on a Lego is very different than stepping on a landmine. The tone of this article was all over the place and kind of creepy at times.

Trying to zap a mosquito on your chair with a high-power electric bug racket... and accidently zapping yourself in the a*s. Even worse... Didn't even manage to kill the damn mosquito!
Touching one of those caterpillars who leave teeny little hairs stuck in your skin which itch and hurt like crazy and are almost impossible to remove.
Getting up in the middle of the night for a bathroom trip and stepping in fresh cat puke. Second only to stepping in dog poop in the yard barefoot.

Every now and then somewhere under my feet starts to hurt. And almost every times it's a short but thick black hair that's begun to squeeze itself through the skin under my foot and I have to pull out that hair and it is so painful and I do not like it one bit. Once, it was a longer hair, perhaps 2cm long, and it had gotten into the skin so far that I could almost not get a grip on it. It was awful! I wonder if other ppl also has experiences with hair that sqeezes itself into your feet? It's not ingrown hair... I think they might be eyelashes???? I don't know. But they hurt af.

How come "sneezing while on your period" is second place and nobody mentions "getting kicked in the nuts"? How can the first EVER approach the agony experienced by the second?
Having hair remover gel sprayed directly in you eye, resulting in a chemical burn and hours of being hooked up to an IV flushing my eye out by a suction cup attached to my eye!
And I thought I had it bad when I accidentally got 48-hour waterproof deodorant in my eye! Yep. I'm pretty sure "long-lasting dry eyeball" pales in comparison to "chemical burn" and IV eyeball suction cup. You definitely win... and not in the congratulatory kind of way 🤣 (I hope your eye has healed!)

getting a thorn stuck in your finger while hiking, deciding to pull it out at home because you forgot to bring tweezers in your backpack, & realizing a couple days later that you never removed the thorn... & now a layer of skin has grown over it! i tried holding a hot wet cloth over it to soften the skin & let the thorn work its way out, but it didn't budge. next i tried to dig it out with tweezers, but i only managed to push it in deeper. for the next two years i went around with a thorn stuck under the skin of my finger, deep enough to be a pain to remove, but shallow enough to cause a bump that hurt like hell whenever i knocked it against something (like reaching into a bag & brushing the finger against something). finally it came out on its own during a hot shower a couple years later, but while it was there it felt like stepping on a lego every time the thorn brushed against something!
My friend sews and had a plush Luigi he had stuck a needle in like a pincushion. The Luigi was on the floor and he got mad and stomped as hard as he could on it barefoot. The needle was facing upward 😬 I feel bad but I was laughing because he's done stuff like this before.

Scraping knee on concrete. Ooouuucccchhhh! A week later, I actually went to the doc to see if I had broken something. Nope. Just skin damaged. It's been many years, but I still cringe when I think about it - or see someone fall on concrete. 😬
Riding my bike barefoot at 8 years old and falling off and the bike chain went straight through my foot between my 2nd and 3rd toes. I’ll never know how exactly I did that but I have an inch long scar between my toes now.
Having a disease, thinking you're finally healing, and then, it come back, surprise.

Finding that missing shard of glass from the mirror that broke months prior that was laying in wait in the really thick carpet for your knee to find. I thought I got all the shards but no; it waited for the right moment of me being on my knees looking for something. Still have the scar 20 years later because "I don't need stitches. All the blood makes it look worse than it is"
