World’s Longest Glass Bridge, 590ft High, Opens In China – Tourists Too Scared To Walk It
A terrifying wooden bridge in China has just been replaced by a glass one. This, the world’s longest glass-bottomed walkway, is located in Shiniuzhai Geopark in Hunan, and spans 300m (984f) and is 180m (590f) above ground. The floor is made of double-layered glass that is 24mm (0.94in), and is reportedly 25 times stronger than regular window glass.
The bridge had previously been made of wood, linking the two peaks of Stone Buddha Mountain, but 11 engineers working 12 hours a day converted it to glass. Previously, you were considered brave if you steeled yourself to cross the wooden walkway; now, with its glass bottom, the bridge is already being referred to as “hero bridge.”

Share on FacebookJust my opinion, but it seems to me a crazy thrill seeking thing to do. I guess the U.S. is not the only country with a large number hooked on adrenaline.
i am 61 would love to go across that bridge, but because of my 4 brain surgeries i would need to have someone hold on to me . Balance sucks! I went white water rafting a few years ago and the guy that was running it had me sit up front with him and my husband. when we were done I could not even stand up , but what a thrill. To expensive for me, but i can always dream.
missing to be there , can be reached through cheapest international travel package www.tourpackagefromdelhi.com
If I wolud lost about 50 kilos I wolud go there, but now I'm too fat I think...
have they thought about the fire danger? Don't know what the climate in that region is like, but sun shining though that glass onto trees below would create a fire risk if it were here in Australia.
Well sun through a flat glass does absolutely nothing, or our houses will burn everytime the sun is shining too hard ! It's the magnifying glass who can concentrate the sun rays ;)
