BLACK 2.0: The World’s “Mattest And Flattest” Black Paint Is Finally Available To All, And Costs Less Than You Think
Finally, I can paint my surroundings to reflect my dark soul. British artist Stuart Semple has developed a batch of super-black paint that’s also affordable and easily accessible for every artist!
You might recall Surrey NanoSystems’ “world’s blackest color” pigment Vantablack which is regarded as the blackest material in the world, but it costs a lot, users outside the UK require a government export license, and it smells like chemicals. Stuart, however, collaborated with thousands of artists around the globe to create BLACK 2.0, an abysmally dark acrylic paint that smells like cherries and can be shipped to anyone anywhere.
“With just one coat almost any object (even really shiny ones) become super-black and reflect next to no light, giving a fantastic black hole type effect.” The paint is non-toxic and one pop of 150ml (about 5 oz) will cost you around $15.

Load More Replies...Vanta black ,which is man-made , is the closest thing to a black hole any human has made . It absorbs almost all the light that falls on it and hence you can't see it's texture as the light doesn't reflect and it just looks like an image on a piece of paper ...
How to make a torture chamber: Lock a prisoner in those soundproof rooms. Paint the room with vanta black Paint the key to freedom with vanta black. Mwahahhahaha
On paper, makes sense. But one thing you didn't really factor in is that the prisoner, rather quickly, would simply begin running his hands over the walls and floors, and would quickly find the key by touch, as opposed to sight.
Load More Replies...that last picture makes no sense. his hand placements are all wrong for a ball. we should see fingers around the ball.
I want this 'color'. I want it for blade of my machete which I will call 'soul eater'.
That's very black. It looked like someone edited a photo with a black circle instead of pained a ball.
imagine a black mate wall with this hanging on it. watching at it. while high. smoooth
just like what they say with black beauties: BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL, BUT TOO MUCH BLACK IS CHARCOAL
They are not holding that ball at all... not a hint of a hand on either of the dudes... shame, got excited then noticed.. photoshop jobby!
I keep seeing a cartoon character throwing out black holes. I wonder what would happen if you painted the sidewalk or just a small section of floor...
The information in this article is completely untrue. The commercial Black 2.0 is not the same as Vantablack. All the photos used under the image of Black 2.0 are actually from the laboratory that developpes the Vantablack. Vantablack is only available for the artist Anish Kapoor. The commercial Black 2.0 is developped by an artist protesting the decision to give Vantablack only to one artist.
Dust will show up on this stuff like white out. It won't look like a black hole for long....
