Some women do it for themselves. Some do it for boys. Some stop doing it after getting married or having kids. Everyone is different. There is a social expectation that women remove hair in order to be attractive and there is a social movement to eliminate judgment of women who don't follow the status quo. That being said, there's nothing unrealistic about this comic. It's just a reality that differs from yours. :P

Not everything has to be targeted directly to you. Perhaps this artist lets her body hair go when she isn't dating and since she drew the picture I'd say that's a fair assessment.

totally! and i don't always shave for dates, chances are I'm wearing pants and he's not going to get to touch my bare legs on the first few dates anyway!

And why? If its related to the hygien then I have sad news for you - removing any body hair lowers huge amount of immunity. Swet and other body oils dont create bacterians but kill them and hairs are part of protection. I myself dont mind people doing it - everyone do what you want. But please stop talking bollox :)

I never shaved my legs for a guy. In fact, I very rarely shave my legs at all. Pretty much the only time (when I was younger) was if I were going to a pool party. I learned quite young that the more you shave, the more you have to shave. By leaving my legs alone, my leg hair was always so sparse, and light in color, that you had to actually look for it to know it was there. No partner I ever had complained about my legs either (how would they know with their own super-hairy legs, and calloused hands?). So maybe instead of worrying about shaving your legs (whether for a man or not), you can spend more time defining the quality of the man you want in your life... because that's far more important, and trust me - the right guy won't care if you shave your legs or not.
