Makeup might not heal wounds but it can help people live with them. And that's exactly what Armenia-born and Moscow-based beauty guru Goar Avetisyan specializes in. Avetisyan regularly gives makeovers to women suffering from cancer or severe skin conditions, and her work not only dramatically changes their appearance but boosts their confidence, too.
Looking at the before-and-after shots of her subjects, Avetisyan's 4.6 million-big Instagram following doesn't come as a surprise. Lashings of concealer, lip liner and clouds of hairspray - as well as brilliant contouring - and they all look excited about their new looks. why when it makes you feel beautiful, foundation does not harm your skin and washes off. What it does for these women is longer lasting
These are good because they increase self confidence, but bad for making people believe they have to wear makeup to look good. I dunno how to feel about this really
She isn't telling them they need makeup to look beautiful, she is doing a special thing for them to help them feel more confident.
How does someone get picked or make an appointment
It promotes a conformist view of beauty. I would love to get a makeover for fun—like dress-up for Halloween—but maintaining this drag-queen style face every day would take hours and cost a fortune. I hope these women can appreciate their natural beauty!
These aren't for everyday. They are special occasion looks.

You think these are drag queen looks? Oh, girl. And you can absolutely do makeup like this cheaply. Like lots of deep discount stores (like the 99 Cent store) carry name brand makeup like Loreal.
We are not the ones with the before faces. I would love a makeup like this just once to see the difference. I very rarely wear makeup and l think its just a 'I wonder'
Yeah, I don't know about this....on one hand it makes people feel better about themselves...on the other hand it feels like a lie....
Amazing make-up skills but a bit too over the top.

Did she use a trowel to apply that make up?
Men with skin "problems" are accepted; let's learn to also accept women for their natural beauty and not make them feel they must cake on makeup and wear a mask! These women look like drag queens (which is FINE if that's what they like and want!) and would cost a lot of time and money to maintain every day.
It goes both ways though. I'm sure there are a lot of men who wish they could cover their scars and acne, but can't because society doesn't accept men wearing makeup.
Anyone should be able to wear makeup if they want to, male, female, neither or anything inbetween. But it is sad that people need it to make them feel more beautiful or confident, even if only themselves. Most people aren’t in it for the artistic self representation (yes some are) but most, including me, feel we need it to look good or be confident. It’s a catch 22 because it wonderful to be able to make people feel good, but it would be wonderful to feel good just as you are. I do genuinely outright dislike the photos of perfectly healthy women she approached because SHE didn’t think they looked good. Yes they loved it but to be told by a total stranger they weren’t good enough as they were must affect you in some way, if only affirming your own lack of self worth.
Exactly
they want to wear it
