Life’s full of blatantly sexist things and the everyday heroes of the internet keep calling them out, poking fun at them, and shining a bright spotlight on them to make it clear—these things are not okay. And, bit by bit, society changes. Hopefully, for the better.
The r/TrollXChromosomes subreddit, an online group that’s been active for a whopping decade and has over 812k members, documents when women and men confront sexism, misogyny, and toxic masculinity head-on. Education is a vital part of the fight for greater equality, compassion, inclusiveness, and respect. However, alone without any ongoing and passionate support from us, education isn’t the panacea against sexism, misogyny, and toxic masculinity that some of us are looking for. It’s not a one-and-done kind of deal: it’s a long, arduous, exhausting process, a war of attrition between competing ideas.
“Better education is definitely key but it is also down to all of us to challenge it by not allowing toxic masculinity to keep going. It means that we all have to actively challenge misogyny and homophobia,” psychotherapist Silva noted in an interview with Bored Panda. He added that both misogyny and homophobia are “still prevalent now in the UK,” where he is based, and “too many people continue to turn a blind eye when they see it.”

According to Silva, men need to do their part and be more in tune with their emotions, instead of trying to repress them as is par for course with toxic masculinity.
“We need more representations of men who embrace their emotions, talk about them and show them with crying, laughing, or hugging,” he said.

Honestly I stopped dating,so I don't start to judge men over a bunch of men which " don't find we match- but can I get some sexual service instead?" Something else that drastically needs to change is how ‘male success’ and masculinity are defined. “We also need to change the image of 'male success'. So, basically, we need to change society at its core because toxic masculinity is part of a faulty system of thoughts. That will take time, but it can start with all of us doing our parts about it,” the psychotherapist told Bored Panda.

As a human, I have allways been carefull of what I say to anyone. Because words can hurt, and I do not want to hurt anyone.
I am still a minor, but since I got one I have been carrying a pocketknife everywhere I go. The public pool, my friends house, grocery shopping. This is our sad reality.
All men since the beginning of time have been careful how they talk around their Mothers, grandmother's, younger siblings, nieces & nephews, Aunts, Uncles elderly neighbours, police, judges etc etc. The list is endless. So the notion that it is now difficult to talk to adult woman is absolutely bonkers to me. The men saying this are capable of doing it they just don't want to to!
Men always say they have it harder, well at least they don't have to speed walk so no one can catch up to them and assault them. At least they don't have to come up with creative ways to defend themselves with everyday items. At least they don't have to worry about being grabbed and raped in a matter of minutes on a walk.
Let's be clear! The men that don't understand this are the men that don't act like a-holes and you expecting them to understand is unacceptable. Why do we have to make an effort to police the manure portion of our gender? If we see it we will but we are not going to go out of our way to seek it out to address it. That is not our responsibility. If we didn't breed it, we are not responsible for it. I don't see you women going out of your way to address the extreme feminists or #karens, so why should we go out of our way to deal with misogynists or worse? How other men behave isn't our problem unless it directly affects us. Women should not expect good men to attempt to educate those bad men because that is not our responsibility.

Problem is, as with any social construct, sexism has multiple levels. You have "innocent" or mimetic sexism (literally just doing what everyone else does with no beliefs or understanding involved; seen almost exclusively in small children), passive sexism (weakly-held beliefs at best, mostly just doing it because they either don't know there's an alternative or haven't given it much thought; many fall into this category), active sexism (strongly-held beliefs, resistant to alternative viewpoints, very prone to cognitive dissonance), and extremist sexism (striving to enforce and enhance sexist attitudes and beliefs in others as well as holding strong sexist beliefs).

America Hates Women
This American YouTuber lost it when she came to New Zealand, because when she had kids in the US, she lost her career and had to start over. Then she found out that we get maternity leave and our prime minister used it during her first term, and it really hit this woman that whatever problems we have in this department, the US is next-level horrible about it. It really sucks and I hope the US improves that.

I am raising my boys to treat girls equally and to treat them as friends and it has worked perfectly so far. What I didn’t know, until we moved to a new city, was my youngest (who was in grade two at the time) was known as the peacekeeper of his class between the boys and girls. A couple of the moms who were friends of my wife said that after we moved the boys started to bully the girls. Why can’t more parents teach their boys respect?
It's all about education and there needs to be a consistent and thorough programme to bring boys up to realise all these above things. We'll never get anywhere unless, straight from the start, we nurture youngsters to understand equality. It's harder to teach stubborn sexist adults, like Bryan Wilson below (By the way, if anyone knows him, report him to the police - he's a potential rapist), but some people will understand this and progress will be made. Eventually more people will realise that treating women unequally for any reason is unacceptable.
Something I really like about this article is that a ton of men are talking about the sexism and it's given me more tolerance for some men. It's a good reminder that despite how many donkeys there are, there are still plenty men that care about women and want to help the become equal.

When I was a kid, every time I admired something fancy or expensive, one of my adult relatives would say, "You have expensive taste. You'd better find a rich man to marry you." People are so clueless about how they indoctrinate very young children with sexist ideas.
Very bitter pills to swallow but the truth is the truth and I will always support women (and matured men) to break these outdated shackles. Societies will never truly develop and grow until the things in these posts are appropriately acknowledged and addressed as they should be.
Somehow I have this feeling that it is actually worse in America than it is in Europe, or at least several countries in Europe. I, as a woman, don't connect with some things listed here that well and truly feel that things are different at some points in my country and in other European countries I have been a bit longer than just vacation.
I don't know about that... I've worked with a lot of Brits over the years and I'd say they're as sexist or more sexist than their American counterparts.
