26 Responses People Had To This Anti-Vaxxer Proudly Wearing A ‘Jesus Wasn’t Vaccinated’ T-Shirt

Oh boy, here we go again. Just when you thought the anti-vaxxer craze was beaten back for good with the shovel of logic, it’s back with a vengeance. There are still plenty of people who believe some conspiracy theory, like the government/New World Order/Illuminati/lizardmen/aliens, are seeking to control and hurt us with vaccines and immunization. However, fortunately, some individuals on social media are on science’s side in the fight against superstition.

A photo of a woman wearing a T-shirt proclaiming ‘Spoiler Alert… Jesus Wasn’t Vaccinated’ got posted online. Can you imagine the reaction to this shamefully uneducated, funny slogan? Go on, and I’ll give you three guesses. That’s right, you guessed it in one – internet users mocked her and other anti-vaccination preachers relentlessly, with some incredible jokes being thrown about.

The jokes first started coming hard and fast, one after another, after the Christian Nightmares Twitter account posted the picture of the T-shirt being worn. Internet users were quick to point out that the T-shirt’s slogan made absolutely no sense at all, and came up with lots of witty and quirky comebacks.

One Twitter user by the name of Andy Richter replied to the Jesus Wasn’t Vaccinated T-shirt with: Neither was Satan. Another internet fan, using the handle Participation Trophy Wife, got personal by stating that Jesus didn’t wear T-shirts or have poorly bleached hair. (Ouch, that one had to sting). While a third tweeter, Privileged White Guy, conceded that the woman isn’t wrong, before adding that when kids die from preventable diseases, they aren’t coming back on Easter. Comedy gold.

You’re right to be worried about the anti-vaccine (or anti-vaxxer) movement. It’s a serious threat to you and me and everyone else in society. Not just to the kids whose parents refuse to let them get their shots. Anti-vaxxers also undermine a concept called community immunity, which protects a small minority that’s not immune to a disease by surrounding them by a vast majority of people who are immune to it. Unfortunately, when more people refuse vaccinations, this puts others (who perhaps can’t be vaccinated) in danger.

The World Health Organization warned that there was a massive 30% increase in the number of people contracting measles worldwide because more and more people forgo getting vaccinated against this disease. The scariest thing? This disease is resurging in countries where it was almost entirely eliminated before.

Professor Arthur Caplan, who teaches bioethics at New York University, told The Guardian that “viruses spread easily in urban environments.”

“Plus, cities are transportation hubs providing truck, car, train and plane routes for infected people to spread disease worldwide. The more unvaccinated people there are, especially in cities, the easier the spread of disease,” Caplan went into detail about the dangers the anti-vaxxer movement poses. “Anti-vaxxers put their communities and others at risk. Many people and children and newborns can’t be vaccinated due to transplants, cancer treatments, immune diseases. You vaccinate to protect yourself and kids and neighbors who cannot.”

While there will always be individuals who think that T-shirts spreading disinformation about vaccinations might be ‘a bit of a laugh’, the reality is that it’s small things like these that steadily undermine the public’s trust in shots.

Honestly the whole "anti-vaxxer" situation is bull****. If you want the best for your children and you want them to live long healthy lives you must vaccinate them so they don't catch harmful diseases! It's that simple! :(

I can't blame this child; people whom she loves and trusts told her this and she believes them because she's a child. Her parents probably think Jesus was a blond white guy, too. Don't mock her, but one can blame her parents for teaching their child to have a false sense of superiority. That's where this anti-vaxxer stuff comes from, a group of frightened people who want desperately to believe that they're better and smarter than everyone else, and that their upper middle class-ness and "special knowledge" will save them when the s**t hits the fan in the next 10-20 years. Good luck to them, I guess.

Not all Christians are anti-vaxxers! Just because one Christian says they don't agree with getting their child vaccinated doesn't mean every Christian is. Please do not shame Christians. My religion is very important to me and others. You are all entitled to your opinions but that gives you no right whatsoever to tear others down for being a Christian or any other religion. And just to be clear I'm not an anti-vaxxer.

Religion seems to be ignorance about how the world works. Often times there is willful ignorance. I really hope she has an open mind, takes some science classes, and changes her mind. The bible is a book with a talking donkey in it, cooking with human feces, a man who gets super powers because of the length of his hair, witches, wizards, zombies, worldwide floods, etc. She is going to believe that these obviously fictional fairy tales are true, but she doesn't believe vaccines help people? Religion had some useful purposes in ancient times, but it has nothing to do with our modern reality and has become extremely detrimental, as illustrated by this post.

I don't have a problem with anti-vaxxers...I have a problem with anti-vaxxers being out amongst the general population. If you choose not to vaccinate, then stay home in your own little world. Your "choice" not to vaccinate puts those that can't vaccinate in danger. Don't risk their lives because you have a choice and they don't. And I think any anti-vaxxer that chooses not to vaccinate and starts an epidemic of a preventable illness should be brought up on assault charges and serve time in jail......If they can do it to people that knowingly infect partners with HIV..they can do it with anti-vaxxers too.

If she’s an anti-medical intervention, literal Bible following Christian (perfectly respectable choice), she needs to be consistent. She’s far too wealthy and judgmental to claim close following. My grandma’s neighbours were such traditional Christians and only wore wool/linnen, spent any free time doing charity and didn’t ever judge others- for judgment is not their place, just love and compassion. She needs to stay at a monestary for a while, get back to the root morals and practice. Helps a lot with ridding your mind and soul of toxic, negative sentiments.

Well. Jesus was the son of the Creator of all things so if his son were to become sick The Creator of all things would create Jesus a new body. So it was written so it is told. So, the anti vexed is not as informed about diseases and is willing to follow without understanding the dangers that surround them the anti vexed ones...
