People Call This 25-Year-Old A Liar Because Of How Well She Cured Her Acne, So She Posts A Video To Prove It
Acne sucks. And while people experience it differently, 25-year-old fantasy writer Mooncaller Leda Muir has found a way to treat her skin. After years of battling this pesky condition, she posted her progress pics, but not everyone celebrated them. While most people complimented the author and her efforts, some thought she was wearing makeup in her “before” pictures (that’s how good of a glow-up it was!). But not for long. Mooncaller Leda Muir silenced the non-believers with a video that makeup simply wouldn’t have survived through.

So it took me years to overcome acne. I finally posted before and after pictures showing my progress, and quite a few people felt the need to say I was wearing makeup in the after photos.

While the occasional pimple can be concealed and eventually disappears, acne is something else. The long-term skin disease occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It “likes” areas of the skin with a lot of oil glands, including the face, upper part of the chest, and back. Still I think it's amazing. 1st, we should be celebrating the good achievements of science and knowledge, not taking it for granted while talking only about the bad sides and consequences, and serious global scale problems, as we tend to do usually. 2nd, there are various kinds of medicines, various kinds of doctors, various kinds of patients: some patients will have to face a more difficult and more painful way only to achieve modest results - but look at her, she's perfect! (Not that she wasn't beautiful before, but let's not fool ourselves) 3rd, we should celebrate the little achievements, not only cry over people with problems, pretending that we care. 4th, this may encourage others to put priorities on their health and start their own little big adventure.

She cures it in a week with a vaginal crystal from Goop? Doubt. She cures it in several years with prescription medication and a daily maintenance routine? Sure, no problem.
Nearly everyone with acne will get meds/certain contraception pills to deal with acne for a certain amount of time (UK anyway) . I think the point was that after she took up a good skin care routine which maintained the outcome of the medication after stopping it :D Other skin care products which are good for acne are kiehls (they have a herbal one which is best for severe acne) and la roche posay :)
You're right, it's not just medication that will just "cure" acne away, it's consistent care for your skin. And even sometimes that doesn't work! Every skin type is different. Some methods will work for a person while others don't. It's trial and error to be honest. I'll have to try your recommendations though. What type of skin is it for?

I am super glad it worked for her. I was on tetracycline for 3 YEARS!! and my acne never went away. AND it gave me lactose intolerance and made my eyes super sensitive to light FOREVER. Like I just turned 50 and it NEVER went away. I tried all the things. I could not go on birth control because it (tried 3 different kinds) did horrific things to epithelial skin that I will not go into (extra estrogen = better mood and outer skin but nose bleeds, etc.). Ate less fat and more veggies, I wash my pillow cases more often, don't hair products (one culprit) on days I am not going anywhere, color my hair once a month (that helps with scalp acne). Now I have wrinkles AND acne. Yea me.
Glad you mentioned lactose intolerance, as few women know about the connection. My girlfriend suffered severe lactose intolerance for years without realizing that it was caused by oral birth control. (Long boring story about why the connection wasn’t made sooner. No one wants that story.)

My mom was told an old country doctor friend that I should never sleep on the same pillowcase twice. It had an almost immediate and noticeable impact on my severe acne.

Way to go, girl! I love the way she did the video showing that she was, in fact, without any makeup. To all of you who are suffering from acne: if you have a lot of redness, see a dermatologist to get the bacterial infection treated because you are possibly suffering from streptococcus too on top of the acne. Products with tea tree oil are very beneficial, as can zink be, either in a supplement or a cream.
I'm happy for her that it cured her, but as a former Lush compounder, it wasn't the Lush products that helped. For instance, that Comforter bubble bar that you pay £6 for is 90% tartar powder and bicarbonate of soda, with SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate), food colouring and a bit of fragrance, you can make it at home. Keep your face clean, and exfoliate, and you should be fine. And if anyone want the ingredients and ratios for some Lush products, I'll try my best to remember them, because honestly, I don't want you people buying into it. I left the company because of mistreatment of their factory workers in MY OPINION (because libel disclaimer, ha)
1. Hygiene, get a good face scrub 2. Eat healthy 3. Drink lots of water 4. Excercise 5. If it’s really bad go to a doctor say it’s getting you down. There’s numerous things they can prescribe that will speed up the process. 6. Stick them out you’ll get there 👍
Also found cutting out dairy from my diet helped massively

1 see a dermatologist - DOCTOR - for prescription. 2. If you still have acne, consider seeing an endocrinologist, especially if you get premenstrual acne. That can be due to hormones. 3. Be gentle with your skin. Moisturize. Avoid certain cleansers if your skin has open sores, some chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide are too strong and can create havoc on broken skin!

Tbh, in her video where she splashes water onto her face and so on, she IS using some sort of filter. These filters are easy to use, really common in Asia and you quickly get an eye for it (plus it's really easy to spot). That's why her skin looks so perfect. Nevertheless, I think it also becomes quite clear that she does not have acne anymore, point proven.
I had acne almost all my life from age 12 on. Finally ordered the Pro-Active kit from late night TV. After all they promised money back if it didn't work. Three weeks. Three weeks is all it took for me to finally have clear skin at age 40. I don't work for the product but I can vouch for it big time. I used it for about a year and then stopped. I'm over 60 now and never even got a pimple since. Some things really do work.
Ok not everything works for everyone. Meds sometimes work sometimes dont. Some people do well with topicals. For me, nothing helped my hormonal acne except birth control/ hormonal meds. So cares if it works for her?
