Almost 70-Year-Old Grandma Reveals Secret Behind Her Incredible Body, But Internet Reacts With Anger
Meet Carolyn Hartz – the owner of SweetLife and grandmother that went on a sugar-free diet 28 years ago and now doesn’t even look half her age.
After being diagnosed with pre-diabetes, the 69-year-old had to give up the sweet stuff to get her blood sugar back on track. The used-to-be sugar addict cut the ingredient out of her diet 28 years ago and now uses an alternative called Xylitol instead. Though her youthful looks aren’t just due to the fact she cut out sugar – she also sticks with an exercise program. “You have to watch what you put in your mouth — that’s number one — and two, you have to move your legs,” Hartz told about her beauty secrets to News.com.au. Despite what Hartz says about the sugar-free diet to thank for her looking young, the Internet just doesn’t buy her healthy lifestyle preachings… What do you think? Did she found a fountain of youth, or is it the money that’s the culprit behind aging gracefully?

Share on FacebookI do not understand what all of this is about. This woman is the owner of SweetLife, a company that sells products containing Xylitol. All of that is revealed. Therefore, this is a simple marketing plot, not more, and not less. Her looks and any reason behind it are not noteworthy but for the promotion of her own products. Admittedly, promiting one-sided nutrition never is a good thing, but we have too little information to say whether she is doing it. Thus: simply a disregardable debate.
She chose not to become a diabetic, and stay in shape - another way to avoid diabetes. I'm quite sure she wouldn't have given up sugar if that wasn't the case. Why do people find it so necessary to be hostile when people take care of themselves? Why is it so scary?
Load More Replies...Yeah. I've got a mother who has been diabetic for 50 years. She looks her age. Nothing wrong with having surgery to look good if that's what you want, but people that claim that that it's all diet & exercise annoy me. Almost as much as the people that get around the no surgery claim but having botox, laser treatments, fillers and tens of thousands of dollars of treatments that are everything just short of surgery.
if I had endless funds to have endless plastic surgery, I'd look half my age too.
Aunt Messy, if there's anyone on this planet who has no room to call anyone else "sour", that person would be you.
Load More Replies...Bored panda is going down the shitter. Was is this nonsense. Post some more good art and cut it with al the bodyshaming debates and sad sobstories. We want to be inspired.
If you want to be inspired, perhaps you shouldn't spend so much time on clickbait sites like BP.
Load More Replies...my grandmother is almost 90, her boobs and calves are awesome, much better than mine and i'm in my 30s. it's possible. what is not possible is her face. it's also true that people eat too much sugar, especially in america. a low carb diet helped me a lot. it was difficult, but worth it. i personally have good experience with xylitol, but i use it rarely.
I don't want my mom to look like this woman: stiff in her face, swollen from Botox and on a bikini posing fake breasts for Facebook. Why are people so obsessed with not looking their age? And for the record, both my mom and me look half our age and we don't do any of the sugar deprivation, crazy diets or plastic surgeries. We know we are blessed with good genes and do exercise regularly for health, not to promote or sell snake oils. Very disappointed that bored panda wastes my time with this kind of articles.
The woman is surely not telling the truth. I've never used sugar since I was 20 years old, and I'm over 50 now and I know many people like me. Using artificial sweeteners are far worse than using sugar. The woman had probably made several aesthetic operations including face-lift, teeth and more and is claiming that sugar alone is the reason. Sugar is quite bad for health, but dropping it alone doesn't make you look younger. 300 years ago, only rich people could allow and used sugar. Poor people didn't necessarily look better. They looked thinner and had better teeth, but not better. bottom line, she is cheating.
Good genetics. Maybe no sugar, but *definetly* good genetics. Until the cancer killed her, my grandma looked 60 when she was 80.
No way do I buy that cutting sugar can make ya look like this at 69 years of age. The face has had work on it and she has more than likely had Liposuction in addition to a boob lift and whatever else to look this good.
Anyone into self-promotion is going to be photographed (I assume) by a professional. Maybe granny isn't a celluloid goddess, maybe it's all photo-shop, etc???
Let's not ignore the fact that she has really good genetics ... and appears to have a relaxed lifestyle from the photos posted ...
wait.....what is problem here? Xylitol or sugar or whatever is but an ingrediant in a larger thing. Why bash something if it only pisses you off. just a thought
Give me a break. She looks every second of her age. And this post is nothing but spam to push her snake oil product.
Honestly, why don't people just leave her alone? She looks good and she's proud of it. Good for her!
You say she doesn't even look half her age, well that means that you think she doesn't even look 35 give me a break she definitely looks older than that!! And good for her if she cut out sugar! But I have always heard that the artificial sweeteners are worse for you! And yes I'm sure she's also had some work done too!!
She has been beautiful all her life. She has great bone structure. I am sure she was never truly over weight. While I think what she is saying to be true. Its hard to completely do anyway with sugar.
That face does not look Botoxed, face-lifted, or anything else, in my opinion.
This could well be false but there was a similar story about a Chinese mom who was 50yrs old but looks about 25. She too claims that regular exercise and a good diet are the reason for her looks. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4492304/Is-youthful-looking-mother-ve-seen.html
A healthy diet, exercise, fresh fruits and veggies, liposuction, boob work, facelifts, hair coloring. It's all good if you have the money and can do it. She looks great and good for her if she has the means to do it. And, BTW, her sugar substitute isn't very healthy either.
Here's the thing about the Internet, some people feel compelled to comment on things they don't like rather than just flipping on by.
SHE GAVE UP SUGAR? BULL. SHE IS USING A SWEETENER 150 TIMES SWEETER THAN SUGAR AND BODY DOES NOT KNOW DIFFERENCE. AND SHE EXERCISES. ALL SHE HAS AND IS MAY BE REAL, BUT IF ONE WATCHES WHAT ONE EATS, ONE CAN LOOK AND FEEL THE SAME. AS GREAT GREAT GRANDPA MAC ALWAYS SAID OF LIFE "GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT." NEED THE CAPS AS AM HARD OF SEEING.
She is gorgeous. Boobs may be real, not sure why people are saying they have to be fake? I have had a kid and because I am lean at 41 my boobs aren't sagging or floppy or whatever. Lifting weights helps build the muscle behind the breast which can help maintain shape as we age, also not having a lot of extra fat helps.
People, Xylitol is natural, and not actually "artificial sweetener" like Splenda, Equal, and Sweet'n'Low are. It's what's known as a "sugar alcohol". It's also good for your teeth, which is why it's used in sugar-free gum to sweeten it. I have Tourettes and avoid artificial sweeteners because they aggravate my tics; but I can use Xylitol, Erythritol (another sugar alcohol), and Stevia just like regular sugar with no problem. They're also better alternatives to sugar or artificial sweeteners when doing a low-carb (keto) diet. Before you freak out about something, do a little research and know about what you're freaking out about.
Yeah. Giving up sugar - and about $500,000 worth of cosmetic surgery. She's trying to sell a product, and I'm not buying it.
Congratulations Carolyn you look great for your age, Take no notice of what the internet says, it is always full of jealous bastards that wobble about all their life because they can't keep their mouths shut and keep on swallowing all this trans fat with everything they eat, Keep it up lass and f**k the internet jealous bastards.
guys really?! if that's what she wants to tell people let her besides who does it really concern?
She may or may not have had plastic surgery. I'm near her age & look as good - it's genetics with me. You should see my 89 year old mom! Who does NOT try looking glamorous, just looks a lot younger than she is & always has. So don't go assuming anything about people. I think this woman's claims are perfectly believable.
I posted a comment with my own collage story. I keep getting notices of replies, but unable to find my comment. Please assist! Thanks!
How YOU will look in old age will depend upon your genetic make up, and how well you treat your body. Eat loads of processed food, smoke, too much sun exposure, drink copious amounts of alcohol, and you too can have the body of someone 30 years older!
Ummmm. Where I live there is a lot of women that look like this in their late sixties. Diet and exercise has a lot to do with it.
I'm a retired nurse and very close to this woman's age. I don't have diabetes, but I will attest to the importance of exercise and proper eating habits to maintain weight and keep one's body in optimal shape. I walk/run 2-3 miles daily, eat well and track my efforts on "Lose It", an app on my Android cell phone. I'm not high tech, but know the basics. I simply desire to feel good and look good for my age. I receive compliments from both sexes that I look healthy and younger than my years. I've had no facelifts, tummy tucks or Botox. I am an Ovarian Cancer survivor of 16 years. I believe her secrets are sincere and more people need to follow her advice. I do have sugar in my diet in the form of complex carbohydrates, such as: fruit, sweet potatoes and sprouted breads. Proteins are a must for building muscle and even good fats like olive oil and avocados help to keep hormones functioning properly in my body. I'm a foodie and love to eat, therefore, I know I have to exercise.
Total LIE! This woman is in her 40-50 age range! Maybe has had surgery/botox...doesn't matter - she's at least 20 years younger than stated. Also...she better hope her dog doesn't eat any of that Xylitol. Because it kills dogs.
What do I think? I think all the dumb shits here who say she's "lying" and are "calling her out" because they're saying she's not being truthful are total morons. Never ONCE did this lovely lady say anything about NOT having any work done. In fact she said she DID. If that's what floats your boat then so the f**k what? She only said what everyone knows. Watch your intake and exercise and she changed her lifestyle and eating habits. She started a company based on that and she's proud of the way she looks. I would be too. She well should be. If you're so pissed at her then maybe you should read it again and think about your motives for your anger. She never "lied" about a thing.
If you down vote me then you didn't read what I wrote. SHE NEVER LIED ABOUT ANYTHING!!! She never said she didn't have surgery! She said SHE DID!!! If everyone is going to bash a woman (women you should be ashamed of yourselves for being so snarky about this too) at least get your story straight....it's right in front of you. Good God.
Load More Replies...Xylitol can kill your dog. I am sorry but I don't want something to cook with that can hurt my fur babies.
Well... they say you age between 1 to 3 years each biological year... so assuming this woman aged 1 year always... and this is what a body of a 'healthy 70 years old person' could look... Or perhaps shes an Ajin....
Does it matter? Why get all angry because some lady "looks good for her age". Is it real? Is it fake? ...why should you care?
Because she is shilling a product. She is claiming that she looks this great not because of surgery but because she avoids sugar. That's why.

Another dumb cliche of a comment. Thats not true either. The proper phrase is "You live only once IN THIS BODY". I wouldn't expect these people to be bright reading what Ive read they have said, but I came on because of the irresponsible comments and I fear someone may read their stupidities and believe them and then ruin their lives by eating, aside from dead animals, one of the worst things you can eat, which is sugar!
Amazing lady, astute business woman! As she says you have to watch what you put in your mouth and move your legs. I congratulate Carolyn on her business success and the way she looks. Looking at the comments...it's sad that so many people (mostly women) are jealous of Carolyn's success and fabulous looks!
A woman advertising her business, when did this become a crime? She looks amazing and should be very proud of herself. She does, however, need to learn to dress age appropriately.
Dumb Americans, they just can't believe that somebody can actually give up sugar. Plus, she probably owns that company because she saw how much good sugar for 28 years is.
Your nym is fitting. In fact, I've seen plants that were smarter.
