Woman Climbs Into A Lion Enclosure In A Bold Display Of Stupidity
Sadly, way too many people leave their common sense at home when visiting a zoo. As it turns out, forbidden petting, feeding and taunting of the animals is not as rare as it should be. Some people even take disobeying the zoo’s rules to the next level by sneaking into the enclosures of dangerous animals. While it’s hard to imagine what goes through the mind of these people, it’s evident that these daredevils haven’t learned their lesson yet.
You might remember the story of Harambe, the gorilla who was killed after a 4-year-old fell into his enclosure? Or that incident with a jaguar attacking a woman who stepped over the barriers? Let’s not forget that insane man who forgot that lions aren’t house cats and shouldn’t be petted! Well, brace yourself for an even more insane story coming up.
Recently, a video of a woman taunting a lion inside an exhibit went viral

On Sunday, Instagram user realsobrino posted a shocking video showing a woman climbing into a lions’ exhibit during a visit to a Bronx zoo.

The woman, who obviously didn’t get the memo on how dangerous these apex predators are, actually tried to get the lion’s attention.

The lion seemed completely unfazed by the woman who was standing inches away from him and even waved and danced to get his attention.

Luckily, the animal didn’t attack the insane lady who was promptly escorted from the zoo’s premises. The unknown woman is now wanted by police for trespassing.

Share on FacebookThis is one of those situations where a wild animal has failed their natural instinct- he should have had her for dinner. We could do with one less idiot.
Nope, the lion's like, "b*tch, please, i only eat premium. Not idiots!"
Load More Replies...So now we're gonna give her exactly what she was asking for (attention)? Let's downvote this and hope for proper punishment for this entitlement.
How does downvoting this achieve anything in the way of punishment for this women? The police are looking for her - let's just hope they find her.
Load More Replies...Fingers crossed. Some people get arrested and jailed for the silliest reasons, I hope something is done about this idiot.
Load More Replies...She should be banned for life and possibly sued for damages by the zoo.
I agree. Can’t follow rules bye. This is not your house.
Load More Replies...The big iron bars aren't there to keep the animals IN, they're there to keep the stupid animals OUT.
It kind of looks as though there is only a picket fence in front of the lion enclosure. x)
Right? That can't be the actual fence, can it? there has to be some other barrier. I was thinking there might be some kind of moat or trench obscured by the greenery in front of the woman.Maybe it's just the perspective making it seem like she's only an arms length away from the animal?
Load More Replies...Lion: "Lady you're lucky I just had dinner. Come back it about an hour. Should be ready for desert about then."
'Luckily, the animal didn’t attack the insane lady' I wish he did, one less idiot in this world... Why would someone even post something like this? You're giving this person attention and then other people are going to be encouraged to do the same thing.
A good opportunity for people to tell their children to never, ever be like that lady.
Load More Replies...Now, if the lion attacked her, who was to blame? She put her life and above all, HIS life in danger with this stupid act, this was not "bonding" with the animal! In any way you look at it, humans are dangerous for animals, even if it is a human's fault, it's the animal that is always on the loosing end. I hope she gets jail time!
I think zoos should have a warning that if you enter a dangerous animal's den, they will not save you and you're on your own.
I've been to that zoo so many times, this is completely uncalled for...Who would be stupid enough to do this? Clearly she's asking for a death wish.
It looks like there is almost nothing between the people and the lion. At our zoo, there are very, very high walls and fences around the big cats. You walk on a bridge and look down. Looks like that lion could take an easy leap to where the people are. I'm sure that's not the case, but I'm super curious. What kind of barrier is in place?
Load More Replies...If you tell me this person didn't get mauled I'm going to be very disappointed
The lion in the video is clearly stalking her, she is so damn lucky! If he had attacked, which would be instinct to him, he would have been killed and we would be mourning his death. Thankfully this is in a zoo, where they are fed regularly and have had some exposure to humans, so he was a little less likely to act on first instinct.
Any adult who does this should be left to suffer and die, or at least be shot with the tranquilizer gun. If they live, arrest them, if they don't... No harm, no foul since the human doesn't value their own safety
My question is, how easily she got into the lion's enclosure? Are there not high enough fences that the lion could get out or a person could get in? Sounds like some shoddy zoo protection there.
The Saddest part about this is Some one is FILMING HER ,not rescuing,or persuading her to leave ,regardless of how incredibly dangerous her actions is there no one there to drag her away ,this enclosure needs to be made human proof not Lion proof
That is really strange, I would rather have spent my time trying to persuade her to leave or looking for zoo personnel who could take care of her. Also I think that I can hear a child's voice in the video who would have had a traumatic experience if anything would have happened to the lady so why didn't the accompanying adults at least walk away with the child... Sometimes I have so much trouble understanding other humans that I feel like an alien...
Load More Replies...At least you can tell the animals are well fed and seemingly stress free at that zoo, its hunting instinct was suppressed and didn't seem angry.
Male lions are inherently lazy, and if well fed won't lift a paw unless it's against another male lion coming for their females. But, gods, that broad is STUPID!!!
Load More Replies...I lived in Africa for a very long time and worked as a safari guide. The reason she was not attacked was because she was not behaving like prey. That's why the lion was confused. If she had turned her back, she would have been dead. If she had crouched down, she would have been dead. She just happened to choose movement that kept her alive. I don't know how long she was in the enclosure, but I suspect the lion would have watched for a few minutes and then gone and taken a bite to see what happened. Hands up who would have been okay with that? I can't tell you the number of tourists I encountered over the years who just did not grasp that wild animals are wild and not like household pets. The stupidity would blow your mind.
If you look closely you'll notice there's a moat between the enclosure and the person standing there. You can just see a couple rocks that indicate a sharp drop. It's pretty common in zoos and enough to deter the lion. They've created the illusion the lion can walk straight up to her by the angle of the video on purpose. Regardless this is really fkin stupid.
I loved that comment above, "You were rejected by a ferocious carnivore. How does that make you feel?"
Fairly obvious that she`s not actually inside the enclosure proper.. (Theres a very deep ditch between her and the lion), and in the last picture you can see other people and a public sign just a few paces away from her position. (The perspective makes it LOOK like she`s in the enclosure). She might be dumb for doing what she did, but its not as clear cut as this article makes out. However people just LOVE to jump on hate bandwagons....
A perfect example of stupidity being selected out of the human race. Go natural selection!
The reason the lion didn't attack Myah Autry was because a dry concrete moat more than 20ft wide and 20ft deep separated them. The low angle of the cellphone video creates the optical illusion they are standing much closer. World-class zoos understand the human animal. I'm glad - because the poor lion would be the real victim if this stupid, idiotic moron was hurt in any way. Thank Goodness she was never in any danger. I'd vote LION every time.
She should be the poster person for the pro abortion groups. Why do we have to put up with stupid people who should never have been born?
This woman is an idiot and lucky that the lion chose not to eat her. It's sad that if the lion had eaten her, he would have been blamed.
She should be charged.....if the animal attached her it would be shot because she's a j*#@@ss.
The lion thought to himself, nah I'm on a diet here, I'm after lean meat not meat full of cholesterol it's not good for my health, sorry but I'm not supposed to be snacking between meals have to watch my figure thank you.
You all are aware that there's a 20 ft. deep and 20 ft. wide moat between them, right?
actually there IS a "fence"- some zoos use other barriers than fences to give the visitor the impression of being within nature and not a zoo. in this case it is a haha (sunk fence) which is a ditch. you can see an info plate about lions. so, the woman can´t be far from where she should be. she climbed into the shrubs dividing the visitor area from the ditch that seperates the animals from the people. you can see that the lion stands on gras. then comes stone. and then come shrubs that grow on the wall of the ditch. the lion could not reach her. but she could have fallen into the ditch and maybe the lion would have jumped in after her.
respect for the lion tho, if i was him i woud've (for sure) mauled and eaten her.
Wise lion. Would likely have been the death of him if he ate her. From food poisoning.
Waiting for his wife - the lionesses mainly do the hunting and killing.
