World’s Last Person Born In The 1800s Celebrates Her 117th Birthday And Reveals Her Secret
Many people have a birthday on November 29th, but Emma Morano from Vercelli, Italy, is the only person celebrating her 117th birthday today. She’s the world’s oldest living person, but not only that – she’s the last person alive who was born in the 1800s!
When Emma was born, in 1899, Britain was still at war with the Boers in South Africa. World War One was still fifteen years away and she was already 28 by the time the television was invented. She holds the Guinness world record as the only person alive born in the 19th century, but what’s the secret to her long life? “I eat two eggs a day, and that’s it,” she told AFP News Agency. “And cookies. But I do not eat much because I have no teeth.” so if you ever needed an excuse to eat cookies, now you have one! Happy birthday Emma!

Share on FacebookI can't imagine how much change this woman has witnessed. Also, a hell of a lot of loss.
Amazing that a body could continue on just 2 eggs and cookies. Congratulations to her as she does appear happy. Happy Birthday Emma!
This is kinda sad because her all childhood friends etc are dead or something :((
She is not alone,my great grandmother is 97 years old and she is Italian like me
She is the last person still alive who was born in the 1800s but not the last person born in the 19th century. The last year of the 19th century was the year 1900. In addition to Emma Morano, there are still two other people alive who were born in the 19th century; Violet Brown of Jamaica (born 3/10/1900) and Nabi Tajima of Japan (born 8/4/1900). http://www.grg.org/SC/WorldSCRankingsList.html
The secret is not about the eggs she ate,but the habit she insists on,that's the difference or the key.
Yesterday was also the birthday of doña Juana, a 123 year old Guatemalan!!! Happy birthday to both!!! :)
She is the last known...i.e. Has documents to prove it and celebrates. God blessed you with a long life, happy birthday Ms. Emma
