Wife Doesn’t Attend Her Husband’s Promotion Dinner All Because Of Her Picky Eating, The Internet Gives Her A Wake-Up Call

Recently, a woman reached out to people in the AITA community on Reddit to find out if she was wrong to not be there for her husband when he really wanted it.

“My husband has been working really hard the last two years to advance at his company and he finally got the promotion he’s been after,” the Redditor Willing_Strawberries wrote in a post that amassed 12.3k comments and 23.8k upvotes. Together with her in-laws, they decided to have a dinner to celebrate her husband’s accomplishments.

“My husband absolutely loves prime rib and there’s only one place in our area that serves it so he picked that restaurant,” the woman recounted. But it turns out, in her own words, “thing is – I’m not fond of steak.” And that’s where the problems began.

A woman wonders if she was wrong not to go to her husband’s celebration dinner because there was nothing she liked on the menu

Allergies and intolerances are one thing, but this "I'm A pIcKy EaTeR" BS is juvenile behaviour, I suspect enabled throughout childhood. And how insulting to the kitchen staff that she thinks opting out of marinade is "difficult for the kitchen staff". She really must be exhausting to live with. Now she's trying to make it up to him. pfft. He's not getting that moment back.

Yup - that moment is gone. And now she will play the hero by "making it up to him." This is what abusers do... kicks and punches on one day - flowers and candy the next.

I'm glad at least she updated and apologized and is trying to make it up to him by going back to the restaurant and getting him a gift.

We all make mistakes and develop weird, hurtful attitudes from time to time. But the willingness to change is the most important. Maybe this is the one time "AITA" was a positive thing.
