Dogs have been proven to improve our moods and decrease stress - which is why it's no surprise they are the most popular pet in the United States of America. Not all of us are lucky enough to get to be around cute dogs all day. Especially if you work in a non-pet friendly office or have a strict landlord with policies regarding pets - but thanks to the internet, you can get your fill of adorable dogs all day long.

I didn't expect to tear up so quickly in this post- but seeing someone run to the dog they thought they lost... oh my heart.

I always want to cut of the previous owner's ears when I see this s**t. Totally disgusting.
I hate that "people" often self "cut" the dog's ears (especially bully breeds) to make them look tough; and if they were "bred" to fight, it is one less part to get caught and torn. It is a brutal process, often done without any sort of sterile environment or numbing. These types of "people" tend to look at the dogs as "property" and not as beings. It is very sad. *note the quotations around the words... definite sarcasm dripping out from my key board.
What kind of arsehole does this? I’d like to chop off more than the previous owner’s ears!
@Natasha it is a horrible and extremely abusive practice that is used amongst sick human beings who like to call themselves “dog fighters”. The poor dogs’ ears are cropped (mangled would be a better term) to make them look tougher. :( I’m glad this dog got a second lease at life and was adopted by a wonderful person.

I was at pet supplies plus a month-ish ago and there was a guy walking around with a tiny pit bill puppy cradled in his arms. I go to pet it and notice both it’s ears and tail had been chopped off and stitched up with giant purple stitches poking out like evil zippers. I bet the puppy wasn’t even close to 2 months old it still had a puppy belly. I had a huge urge to rescue the puppy and run out of there into the night.
These monsters that cut off ears and tails should be forbidden to ever own any animals. Better yet the should pay a heavy fine and made to work for a dog shelter for 4 years during their weekends and free time.
They shouldn't be allowed to live in society. Whoever can do this to a poor animal has no empathy whatsoever. A monster like this can also harm a child or a "weak" person without feeling any kind of remorse. They are dangerous and should be kept in a cage for the rest of their lives.

A beautiful act of kindness. What possible reason could someone have for removing a puppy's ears?! That is revolting. I could understanding if there was a medical need but it would cause so much pain.
I once saw on Animals Cops where two juveniles used scissors to makes multiple cuts while chopping off their pit bulls ears! They need their ears cut off.
Good lord, what did the previous owner use - dull scissors? Her new ears are lovely, and she can get them in every color and shape she wants.

It's meant to make the dog look tough, because a fighting dog would have them cropped so the opposing dog can't grab hold. It is sad and pathetic that some people think like that.

Please may I share just one more picture with you? Shilo was a rescue dog. He was born on the side of the road with his three brothers. His mother was abandoned there when she was pregnant. Thankfully he, his mother and three brothers were found and all went to happy, loving, forever homes. When we went to get Shilo form the shelter it was just after losing another beautiful Border Collie called Samba who was just the most beautiful dog in every way. We were still devasted by his loss but we wanted a rescue dog and another Collie and we found Shilo. When we were deciding which puppy to choose my mother picked up Shilo and he just snuggled into the the nape of her neck and cuddled into her. He chose us as much as we chose him. I truly believe that he rescued us as much as we rescued him. He is just the perfect mix of love and fun and so completly loyal. The photo here is when mum picked Shilo up and he cuddled into her. That was the moment we knew he was the dog for us. IMG_0440-5...3ed8c7.jpg 
This is my dog Shilo the black and white Collie and his 2 best friends Toby the Shih Tzu and Rua ( Gaelic word for red) long haired Daschund. Because we live in rural Ireland and next to fields full of sheep and because he is quite a big dog, Shilo has been taught from when he was a puppy not to leave the garden. His 2 little friends live down a lane next to our house and come and visit him and play with him in our garden instead. We call them the three amigos. Despite his size (he is twice their height) Shilo is always gentle with them and they all love playing with each other. It's really cute when they come to our back door and bark for him as if they are asking him to come out and play. They really are the best of friends. 💖😊 IMG_E5208-...3929e3.jpg
