People Put Their Arms In A Hole, Letting This Tattoo Artist Ink Whatever He Wants
Scott Campbell, a well-known tattoo artist based in the Williamsburg part of Brooklyn, New York, has created the ultimate test of trust in his work: he offers free tattoos to people as long as he gets to choose the design and not show it to them until it’s done. The name of his project, playing on everyone’s favorite truck-stop delight, is “Whole Glory.”
The trust these people place in him when they stick their hands through the wall for a free tattoo isn’t unfounded – Campbell has tattooed celebs like Marc Jacobs, Orlando Bloom and Penelope Cruz. Nonetheless, he does thank each person for their trust in him and his art. What do you think of the work he did?

Sorry for saying this but what if the tattoo artist draws something they don't like? Are they really taking a risk because it is free?
This kind of thing is self selecting. Meaning only people that are excited by the mystery, who want to have a story to tell (good or bad) would actually do it. Being free is a perk, but it's not the primary motivating reason. Most people could scrounge up enough change to get a butterfly, or something that they would be neutral enough for them and most to be happy about. This is something more.

Sounds like a pretty cool concept for the tattoo artist but I still wouldn't want someone to choose my tattoo for me. Still, seeing that he has inked up some pretty famous people it might be worth the risk. I personally like to get all of my tattoos done at https://www.venusbymariatash.com/ in NYC. They have some killer tattoo artist there that really know how to make cool designs.They even do piercing and have apparel also!

I couldn't get a tattoo since I could not pick one image I would want to watch for the rest of my life. To let someone else choose me a picture would be unthinkable. In general I think people who get tattoos are a bit impulsive or they don't fully comprehend the idea of "permanent". Many seem to be even unimaginative. This adds up to millions of people with the same skulls, snakes, tribal motives and generic "carpe diem wisdoms" in their skin which make them just look stupid.
You have to be either bold or careless to put your arm in that hole.. That takes balls! But hey, super cool tattoo's!!
I don't like his tattoos either, but I once heard this quite beautiful saying from one person who has quite a few tattoos. "As we tattooed people like to say: you get the tattoo that you have earned & deserve". I think for such a person this would be very interesting experience.
In a word they must be mad I saw this on another site and he was pictured with his wife who apparently won't have any tattoos! That tells you all you need to know!
Well, why not? Tattoos are such a cliche and nobody has anything that means anything personal to them any more so they might as well get any random thing on their arm.
