How many times have you thought to yourself ‘no, don’t go there!’ or ‘don’t do that!’ while watching horror movies? Well, pretty much every horror movie plot relies on characters who ignore all of the obvious warning signs and puts themselves into danger. Spoiler alert: it usually ends badly for them.
Fortunately, in real life, people don’t always make such fatal mistakes. Take for instance Tumblr user Teaboot, who grew up surrounded by woods in Northen Canada. She shared a post with 16 dangerous situations where she could have been that ‘white girl’ from horror movies, but instead, she managed to save herself.
“I have a weird family with a weird history that lives in a weird area and does weird stuff. Fact is, that just leads to weird situations. Trying to explain it wouldn’t make any of it sound less strange,” she told Bored Panda. When asked what her best advice for other would be, she reposed by saying “‘Does it sound like something that could get you hurt or killed? If Yes, don’t do that.” Or at the very least, figure out WHY it would be dangerous, and take steps to prevent it. Do you believe demons are real and can eat your face? Don’t go poking the supernatural with a stick. That’s not to say, “Barricade yourself in your house, lock the doors and windows, light a prayer candle and never go outside again”, that’s just… Bring a buddy. Know your own comfort zone. Simple stuff, like drinking water and talking to people you trust.”

In real life, people have more common sense. Take for instance this girl who could’ve been a ‘white girl’ from horror movies but instead did something much smarter

Share on FacebookI like how she treats all of these situations like they aren't really f*cking terrifying. She's like, "Cannibal cat? I'll just put him out. No biggie." "Guy chasing me through the woods? Oh, I'll just hide." If I were her, I'd be too traumatized about most of these things to post about them.
It's all in the attitude - I friend of mine (girl) once met some pervert in a long coat hidden in the bushes around a playground. As far as I remember the guy was naked under the coat and when he saw her he opened the coat and started masturbating. Her reaction was priceless - she told me that she looked at his thingy and then started laughing so hard, that poor guy just ran away.
Load More Replies...She seems to put herself in a lot of questionable situations... or have a really active imagination.
she lives next to the woods, if your read the top part..
Load More Replies...In my case, the smell became unbearable after 5 "anecdotes"...
Load More Replies...I 100% believe her purely because I've had some pretty crazy s**t happen to me to for no reason whatsoever.
Like everyone else I think. We just don't notice it most of the time... We often tend to make life less boring than it actually is.
Load More Replies...I wonder if she's actually in the woods a lot, or if these are the only times she was in the woods and this weird s**t just keeps happening whenever she's in the woods. She should probably, like, never go in the woods again....Ever.
lol I like your final advice :) write a book! there's a book called "I Am I Am I Am: 17 Brushes with Death" by Maggie O'Farrell... I wonder how your experiences compare...
Would really love more info coz most sound like urban legend and some like utter bs. I think most people have a couple of "what if" scary stories but if these are real this person maybe wholly unique. Highly unique.
grow your hair out and dress like a girl, for starters...
Load More Replies...It would seem that we have a lot in common. Creepy sh*t happens; you deal with it, learn from it and go on your merry way.
Whaaaa these stories had me blinking twice...but really, that time i was camping alone after having driven to the other side of the country (Australia) to start my postgrad studies...camped in a state forest area, a Ute w 3 big dogs in a cage drives past and continues down the dirt road through the trees... didn't see it again, just went to sleep, woke up in the morning, packed my stuff and on the drive out saw 2 kangaroos b
*boxing each other, and blocking the road. They we're surrounded by a group of other 'Roos just silently watching
Load More Replies...Number 11: was that a reincarnated hamster? Would explain all the screaming.
The time I read this thread and realized almost half of this list couldn't possibly be true-- and then the time I realized scary sh*t happens to people all the time xD
Question-What if guys already stay away from you 😅 Just kidding I’m a married woman and I definitely will take this advice...I seriously have so many questions
I had a guy that followed me to my car once. He tried to be stealth about it. As I got close to the car, I started yelling at the air..getting angry..acting like I was Schizophrenic. "I am a*****e! Well who asked you! Listen MF! I've had just about enough of this! Don't make me get my knife!" And I started digging around in my purse..(looking for my keys, but he didn't know that.) The final straw was when he heard me say "I know we have some dipshit following us. Shut up or I'm gonna do to you what I'm gonna do to that a**hole!" Dude couldn't drive away fast enough.
HILARIOUS!!!!!!! This was awesome!!! Lmao! Good thing this lady has good sense and apparently 9 lives, and she needs to write a book or something. Lmao
I find it astonishing that every single woman I know has at least one story of a creepy guy coming on to them and making them feel unsafe (or doing even worse). What I read here is not a list of funny horror movie clichés but the story of a woman who has found a clever way to deal with creeps and has luckily had nothing happen to her.
I too had a cannibal cat. He was found under a friend's porch, soaking wet in late fall. I took him in and he had an odd affinity for suckling on ears. Probably weened too early. Then, he got lost and we found him at the pound, he was never the same. A dog bit through his paw and his paw swelled up, he lost all the hair on his tail at some point, and his eye got infected and welled shut. He was like the cat from Pet Sematary. But my little zombie cat still loved ears. Then, one weekend, I went to camp and he never came back. My mom swears he must have ran away. Likely story.
One time I had this friend that we would play baseball with and Super Nintendo and ride bikes. Then he moved and a few years later he was a serial killer and he got caught.
I believe everything she says....there are way too many horrible dudes out there who were raised by s****y s****y parents. It's so sad.
I'm not sure if she's brave or an idiot for the way she gets in and out of some of these situations. Glad she's smart enough to not panic though, phew! This is going to be an interesting woman some day.
This girl has some guts ! :-p Kudos and keep doing just that, seems like it has saved you so far... !
How do you have that bad of luck to have this many bad situations!
Stuff like this happens to me all the time. 1: When I was a kid, I once woke up, in the middle of the night, holding a knife to my throat in the kitchen. I subsequently threw out the knife and never thought about that moment ever again. 2: I once was walking home when I noticed that people were staring at me through their windows. Not even blinking, just staring ominously with completely straight faces. I decided to just turn around and go down a different street. It worked. 3: I went outside and noticed several patches of red snow on the lawn. One of them, the biggest one, was slowly getting bigger, as if something was bleeding beneath the snow. I just slowly backed inside and wrapped myself in a blanket.
You may want to speak to a doctor or something, some of that sounds like severe hallucinations.
Load More Replies...WHAT A LOAD OF S**T. How the f**k can Bored Panda seriously post this nonsense as something to be taken seriously? Absolutely ridiculous.
If you actually think any of those things really happened, you need to tell the voices in your pointy little mind to quiet down and then run to the nearness hospital and/or mental center to get help - lots and lots of help.
Right, because nothing weird/unexplained/terrifying has NEVER happened to anyone in recorded history am I right?
Load More Replies...Yeah, this things happen, just like the time I was reading a BP article and found out it was totally fake...
