Referring to herself as the bionic bachelorette, Mandy jokingly said that her dating life is truly sparse. “[But] humor aside, I’m picky. It’s gonna take a special kind of man to tie me down,” she added. “You know, dating with double leg amputation is interesting, sometimes you have to draw a picture. Let people know it’s okay to joke, and I encourage it.”

“In 2014, I was involved in an incident where I was struck by a locomotive, severing my legs just above the knee.” The doctors initially thought she had tried to kill herself, and by the time she could explain the situation, it was too late to test her for date rape drugs. At first, Mandy avoided online dating after her accident because she felt too self-conscious but eventually decided to give it a try after watching a video about dating as a disabled woman on YouTube.

Every day, more and more people are falling in love with Mandy
She is very witty and outwardly beautiful by society's standards, at least from the waist up (not my standards, mind you). I'm curious if someone with the same physical disability would garner similar responses if she were just as witty but with less outward beauty (by current society standards). I won't fault you for the down vote. I'm not trying to be mean in any way, it's just something crossed my mind and I'd like to know how others feel about it.

Love this. I was born with half of my left arm. My name is "bandit" because i am the (ahem) "one-armed bandit". I get to have a (sic) second-hand shop filled with (sic) off-handed puns. By being slightly obnoxious about it, people who are unsure about offending me tend to relax quickly. I would love to date her. Between us, we would have two legs and three hands: 1.25 people + two heads. Maybe join the circus as a freak show?? You should see me in a wheel chair. Either I go in circles, or look like the hunchback from Notre Dane.... Folks: we are not "disabled". we just have a built-in hobby. Attitude is all. Don't let fear of loss of a limb rule your life.
