I have owned quite a few um...different pets in my life. From crawfish to baby grey squirrels, I have lived a life full of animal companionship. What is the most unique animal you have ever had the pleasure of sharing your love and friendship with?

I had a crayfish named Claws for over a year. I bought him from a friend in 5th grade for $5.00. He was about 6" long from tail tip to claw tip, and he apparently never lost a claw. Quite the specimen. When he died, we all knew it pretty quickly. The stink came quick. I buried him in a cool whip container under the shrubbery in front of our house. I found a rock for a headstone on which I wrote "R.I.P. CLAWS".

Probably not that weird but when I was 9 I had a pet praying mantis for a while. The mantis had no name and lived off of bugs my dad killed with the fly swatter. It lived for 4 months before eventually dying of unknown causes.

Awesome! I recently lost my most special and unique pet/friend, a Southern Flying Squirrel! They are definitely underrated and unappreciated! Amazing companions!

Well, more than one I have to say. Baby skunks and baby porcupines. When mowing hay sometimes a mother animal would get killed. (Usually rabbits but I remember these.) My father would feel awful and bring the orphan babies to the house to be cared for until they could be released. (They we’re not treated as pets.)
