Today our country elects its 45th president, and while “the media” has bombarded us with angles and ads, we thought we’d get a fresh perspective and find out what — if anything— kids were saying about the candidates and the presidency.
Once we dug in, a couple things became clear— the kiddos are picking up much more than we expected. They’re processing what it all means through the world as they understand it. This made for some sweet, hilarious, and sometimes shockingly insightful quotes and conversations.
We’ve collected some of our favorites here (as always, shared with permission of the parents). LittleHoots is an app that helps parents around the world keep memories with their children.

Sadly, most of these are at the very least influenced by adults, or repeated by the children. Too many seem entirely out of character for a child, and I have 3. None of them, and the eldest is nearly 12, have ever made a political statement. They're more interested in lego, minecraft and Harry Potter.
Agree! And it's sort of worse the post is from the ceo of the app. Either the parents are using the app the wrong way or the ceo is using it the wrong way. Just leave the kids out of this, if you're a grown-up, you have grown-up ways of expressing your self... I'm sad.

How can you definitively claim that. Children are not stupid, and the negativity and hate surrounding Trump is felt by all.
I never said it was definitively the case. I was speaking from experience, of which I have a reasonable amount. For example, I was a brownie assistant, worked in a primary school, and have children them myself. I definitely didn't say children were stupid. As with adults, it will vary from child to child. The majority of children do not watch the news, nor read the paper or listen to the radio, so one can assume that they heard it from people they know. Regardless, given they won't be researching the topic to find out facts, they will simply be repeating something they have heard somewhere. The negativity and hate you speak of are where these children are hearing what they are repeating. Childhood is precious and fleeting, it shouldn't be taken away by worry. To put it simply, they are too immature to comprehend and deal with the harder side of life. It doesn't make them stupid. Immaturity and intelligence are different things.

There are some actually. These quotes reflect however, the impression from a children's point of view. There was one silent, rationale candidate and one load, emotional one. (I am not making any point on the political rationale here.) It is clear that the emotional one makes more impression on children...and it is easy to understand that this not necessarily was positive.
Why don't we go back to seeing puppy's in shoes. Or pigs playing in the mud. Why don't we start hoping and not being negative???

Photos of cute puppies or amazing art can unite people and uplift. These posts divide and cause bad feelings.

what is this? this isnt even funny, im done with you boredpanda...you cant help yourself with anti trump campaign even after elections...he isnt saint but at least he is not evil. every day you fill people with fake stories and propaganda..shame on you..

Beacuse they are pointed at one candidate.....TRUMP!He's a misogynistic, arrogent, under qualified , racist and just all round nasty man! All he will do is destroy what America has worked so hard to build!
