Iceland Kills Whales, So Anonymous Hackers Shut Down Its Government’s Websites
Anonymous, a loosely associated network of anonymous hackers and hacktivists that recently made the news for attack ISIS’ social media accounts, has entered the animal rights arena in a big way – by attacking Icelandic government websites in response to the country’s illegal whaling practices.
The hackers targeted the websites of every Icelandic ministry except the ministry of welfare, shutting their websites down for 13 hours between November 27th and 28th. Though the International Whaling Commission has established a commercial whaling moratorium, and Iceland is a member of this commission, Icelandic companies continue to engage in commercial whaling. The hacktivists’ video name the endangered fin whale and the Icelandic company Hvalur as two of the main actors in this situation.

i am from iceland and a do not support whale hunting i am against it and can't do anything about it why do you say iceland as if we are all jumping in the next whale hunting ship with our harpoons ther is one company here that is controlled by one man and people that have no jobs because lack of jobs in iceland work for that one man to survive get paid even if they don't support this and you attack and imprint a label on the whole country as whale hunters when many other countries is having the same problem bring down the man behind this operation not the government that already cant stand on its own legs

I like dogs myself, but would you treat a country differently if they ate cows or pigs? Unless you are vegetarian or something, you don't have really have a lot to say. Dogs are no different to chickens, cows or pigs. (sorry if that was all over the place, i just wanted to get this out there)

(As an example of isn't: There's a far-right-wing account called "Anonymous Kollektiv" which spreads neo-nazi and pro-Russian propaganda, claiming to be Anonmyous. Anonymous has stated that this guy was able to social-engineer the account away from them (he was admitted into the team of page admins then blocked out all the other admins). If you see someone in your Foolbook who like this damn page, tell them what they're really listening to.
Come to Iceland and just relax and met us over dinner. With great whale meat. Which enables you talk to us about the massacre of our cod, mackerel and capelin, and also the massacre of Americans in turkeys on thanksgiving. Or any other massacres on animals we eat.
The species of wildlife you named are currently not at a high risk of going extinct. Whales have been around for almost 50 million years. It is not humans' place to remove these animals from the face of the planet. Of course killing other species of animals is still killing, however, turkey are raised and bred for food. Aside from the actual killing, this does not effect the natural ecosystems like whaling does.
