Why is this a "weird" or "unusual" fruit? I thing only food you've known and liked in your life is banana.
A pain to get the fruit out but incredible juicy sweet with the red flavor. Hard to get the seeds out if you don't know how. The downside is if you eat any of the membrane holding the seeds, it's incredibly bitter. Like the rind of a Grapefruit.
to remove the seeds, do it in a tub of water. the seeds sink and the white stuff floats and is mess-free!
