I have a philosophical question for you: if someone enjoys a meal that everyone else finds horrid, do they prove that taste is subjective? Or do they achieve the opposite and show that it exists within certain boundaries? Whatever your initial answer is, hold on to it until you finish scrolling through this list. Believe me, it might change.

To show you that some stomachs have no limits, we at Bored Panda put together a collection of the weirdest food combinations we could find. We're talking bacon-wrapped Oreos, hard-boiled eggs with Nutella, and... I can't go on, sorry, I just had breakfast. You'll have to scroll down and check out everything for yourself. If you have the guts, of course. Just don't tell Gordon Ramsay about these photos — he'd probably stab these "chefs" with a fork.

It's because the salt really enhances the flavor of the chocolate

If the chips are plain (salt only) I can actually see this working in terms of flavor. Seems messy as heck to eat, though.

This one isn't weird at all though, savoury snacks go well with chocolate. Like chocolate dipped pretzels for example

I've done this, it's actually rather nice. The crisps absolutely must be salted only though.

Okay, if it was traditional chips (like just salt) it would taste good. They make chocolate covered chips, so I feel like it would taste good

I used to often eat this as a snack. that sweet and salty combo is divine. Now I'm onto trying to eat a lot healthier so it's not as often a snack anymore xD

Nutella is nature's way of telling you it's OK to eat icing for breakfast... if you put it on muffins, you get breakfast cupcakes! 😋😋😋😋😋😋

When I was a kid my friends’ parents would go to a club across the road (this was a workingmen’s club not a night club!). Their dad would check up on us at about 9pm on the pretext of bringing us chocolate and crisps. We’d put a square of chocolate between two crisps and crunch; fantastic!

There are commercial chips in chocolate. Adding nut butter is hardly unusual. Down vote.

In the UK your "chips" are "crisps" and they get dunked in all manner of liquid foodstuffs. From sour cream to tomato sauce to marmite. Anything that takes your fancy really. Versatile indeed.

If you don't want your dishes to end up in a similar list, there are some easy tips that can improve your cooking skills straight away.

According to Fine Cooking, the first thing you can do is rethink the way you use your chef's knife, "for better control, choke up on the handle to the point of putting your thumb and the side of your index finger onto the side of the blade right above the handle. Speaking of chef’s knives, invest in a good one (and keep it sharp). The longer, wider blade of a chef’s knife will give you speed, control, and confidence," the magazine wrote.

Next, start your dishes with the best ingredients you can get. For example, imported Parmigiano-Reggiano is way better than domestic parmesan. In fact, you can hardly compare the two. Or if you're baking a cake, premium chocolate makes all the difference and fresh homemade breadcrumbs are superior to packaged crumbs by miles. You get the idea.

Now that you've got the good stuff, use your hands. "Hands are extremely sensitive and sophisticated cooking tools," the experts said. "You can develop this sense of touch by paying attention to how different foods feel at different degrees of doneness, even as you’re checking them with a thermometer, a toothpick, or a knife. Meat, for example, goes from being very soft when it’s rare to quite firm when well done. Touch can also indicate when a cake is baked, if the dough is kneaded enough, and whether a pear is ripe."

A great way to instantly elevate your dishes to another level is by switching to kosher or sea salt. Kosher salt and sea salt have a much, much better flavor than ordinary table salt. Though food shouldn’t taste salty, falling on the other side of the spectrum and using little or no salt makes food boring.

Also, pick recipes that use descriptive words. Like, "bake until golden brown" or "boil until reduced by half." Don’t freak out if the actual amount of time it takes to reach the desired state is more or less than the time suggested in the recipe.

Cooking is a never-ending journey, full of ups and downs. Focus on the journey, not the setbacks. Take everything as a learning experience, apply yourself, and always. taste. throughout. the. process.
