The “Cursed Architecture” Twitter Feed Showcases The Best Of The Worst (40 Pics)
Whether we're talking about the subreddit Crappy Design or the Instagram account Ugly Irish Houses, the Internet seems obsessed with tasteless crimes against aesthetics and functionality. If you are too, the Twitter account "Cursed Architecture" is right up your alley.
Its hellish content includes strange angles, melting paint, vaguely threatening toilets, stairs that lead to nowhere, and more. Basically, the kind of stuff that architects and interior designers would imagine in a horror-comedy. But believe me, you don't have to be an industry pro to appreciate these pictures. They're so bad, us regular folk will get them as well. Enjoy!

The seat of the monarch of the carpet mold and mildew
Load More Replies...This is a basement bath room, the toilet is raised so its pipes are above municipal sewer lines. You do NOT want your pipes to be lower.. you'd get all the s**t from the sewer lines.
True. There are devices to pump the sewage up but they never work and are hell on earth when they break.
Load More Replies...OK BUT WHO THE F**K CARPETS THE TOP OF THEIR TOILET! I KNOW THATS NOT THE PROBLEM IN THIS IMAGE BUT WHY?
If you don't like the food: "You got really nice plates!"
Load More Replies...Don't fall asleep on this toilet! If you fall forward you smack your head on the sink, fall sideways and break your neck.
I know the strairs are the main topic here, but... carpet ? Seriously ? Yewww....
That is some clown installing a standard toilet on the ground floor without the required drop for the drain... You have to give them credit for a novel solution!
When I'm trying to hold my pee for the last few hours and I finally come to this.....
This was literally my bathroom in a basement apartment I lived in many moons ago, except mine was tiled and blue, not paneled and carpeted. The bathtub was in a separate room across the hall. No door, no curtain, nothing. Just ungodly steps and a sink.
I once rented a beachside flat built by a known sculptor..the throne was on two step plinth..but the basin was ground level!
Perfect! Now all we need to do is remove the stairs, make it bigger, and overall fix everything we just did!
I feel the need to go and wash my hands just from looking at the picture. Ugh!
Gives new meaning to the name......throne. Look down on your subjects while taking a crap. What a timesaver!
This would drive me INSANE not having anywhere to put my feet when I sit...
The plumber must have followed the '3 easy steps to fitting a toilet'....
Not only is it carpeted, but it would be impossible to vacuum that carpet
I'm not sure if the carpet or the toilet and sink is pissing me off mote
Carpet may feel good under foot until the toilet flows over, etc.
Load More Replies...What happens if you fall off the toilet and break an arm. That a serious risk here.
Complete with ghost of the first victim to fail to navigate these steps!
Oh, God - the 70s. You can bet this combo also came in purple, brown and "harvest gold"

No... there are countries with little in the way of building codes and few people to enforce what codes do exist.
Load More Replies...A lot of these are just bad decor, and have nothing to do with architecture.
