Whether we're talking about the subreddit Crappy Design or the Instagram account Ugly Irish Houses, the Internet seems obsessed with tasteless crimes against aesthetics and functionality. If you are too, the Twitter account "Cursed Architecture" is right up your alley.

Its hellish content includes strange angles, melting paint, vaguely threatening toilets, stairs that lead to nowhere, and more. Basically, the kind of stuff that architects and interior designers would imagine in a horror-comedy. But believe me, you don't have to be an industry pro to appreciate these pictures. They're so bad, us regular folk will get them as well. Enjoy!

This is a basement bath room, the toilet is raised so its pipes are above municipal sewer lines. You do NOT want your pipes to be lower.. you'd get all the s**t from the sewer lines.

True. There are devices to pump the sewage up but they never work and are hell on earth when they break.

I stayed in a really cheap motel with my mom once that had a toilet that was at the stop of a set of stairs like this. My 14 year old mind thought it looked very regal. 😆

Don't fall asleep on this toilet! If you fall forward you smack your head on the sink, fall sideways and break your neck.

That is some clown installing a standard toilet on the ground floor without the required drop for the drain... You have to give them credit for a novel solution!

This was literally my bathroom in a basement apartment I lived in many moons ago, except mine was tiled and blue, not paneled and carpeted. The bathtub was in a separate room across the hall. No door, no curtain, nothing. Just ungodly steps and a sink.

Perfect! Now all we need to do is remove the stairs, make it bigger, and overall fix everything we just did!

The sink is just as bad. Either it's too high or, if you stand on a step, you have to lean sideways.

If you take the carpet out I think it's not a horrible idea for a half-bath, space saving.

You know how annoying it is when people can see your legs under the stall panels? Well, consider yourself lucky : in there ones, they can see your butt, your balls, and the falling turd.

The Hustler Casino in California had recently opened, and I drove by it to and from work. One night, the big CASINO sign was malfunctioning, two letters kept flashing off and on. So the sign was announcing to the world "CASINO... ASIN ...CASINO... ASIN ...". I called them to let them know and they thought it was a prank until they went outside and looked at it. The next night, it was fixed.

It's from my hometown in France ! Actually the municipality decided to build a new bridge to accommodate the tram. But the inhabitants loved the old bridge so much that they decided to keep the stairs as a souvenir...

Carpeted bathrooms and toilets used to be the norm in the UK, ours was when we moved to this house 30 years ago. Glad that we have got over that phase.
