Many internet users call Australia the land of the 'NOPE'. But it's so much more than that. Just take a look at the country's subreddit and you'll see what it has to offer.

Physics teachers defending their houses from bushfires? Check. Sexy calendars? Check. Public bike repair stations? You bet. The members of this sub share pictures of pretty much everything that makes Australia the unique patch of land that it is.

Tony Abbott, a former politician who served as the Prime Minister of Australia, has said that "Once people come to Australia, they join the team." So since traveling in real life is still tricky, join Bored Panda on a voyage to the biggest Aussie subreddit on the internet.

It's about time churches get taxed, specially mega churches with pastors who have their own mentions and private jets. And don't forget universities. They are all for profit, they need to pay taxes.

churches don't pay taxes because the money they generate (tithes/offerings) comes from money given that has already been taxed. so it would be double taxed. especially since they're not offering goods & services - they're not selling something, the money is donated to them. not to mention the good churches that do charitable works within their communities. again, it's charity, and shouldn't be double taxed.

I absolutely love the last line. I never understood why some bigots care so much, a stranger's relationship has absolutely no affect on you, the same with transgender ppl. Grow the f**k up, quit using your imaginary wizard in the sky as a cop out for your ignorance.

Tax-exempt nonprofits often make money as a result of their activities and use it to cover expenses. In fact, this income can be essential to an organization's survival. As long as a nonprofit's activities are associated with the nonprofit's purpose, any profit made from them isn't taxable as "income."

Churches are in fact non profit organizations. Most churches use funds to do charity work. Also , most churches accept gay people as well

Gee.... like I don't see THIS in the US practically daily? For the record, Churches do not get special exemption from taxes. Non-profits -- companies which don't disperse profits to shareholders or owners -- are tax-exempt. So no, ACT UP doesn't pay taxes either.

Churches provide serives like non profits do. F**k me running man. Does ever f*****g BP thread have to have several atheist post in it now???? I'm tired of this rip off site of Reddit. Don't know who hurt these authors so much that no matter what the thread is about there has to be some shade thrown at religion. Not ever single Christian, Jew, Muslim, Morman or otherwise is a bad person. A lot of us are just regular people. Except for Scientoligist, F them.

Interestingly, Australia is considered the second driest continent after Antarctica. When you look at the busy Sydney harbor or the impressive skyline of metropolitan Melbourne, it seems almost unbelievable that nearly 40% of the continent is uninhabitable.

The lack of rainfall is one of the main reasons why such a huge amount of its landmass is so desolate. The national precipitation for 2020 was 483.4mm (19 inches). For comparison, even California gets about 563mm (22 inches) of rainfall every year.

This arid, uninhabitable part of Australia lies in the middle of the continent (the Outback), away from the coastline. And this is also the reason why more than 80% of the country’s population lives within 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the coast.

acidic comments about the cat being photographed before going to the vet. The owners obviously care about their cat and are happy and relieved that she's back. No need to assume they are not properly taking care of her.

Aboriginal Australians first arrived at the Land Down Under from Maritime Southeast Asia sometime between 50,000 and 65,000 years ago. From the rainforests in the north, the deserts in the center, and the sub-Antarctic islands of Tasmania and Bass Strait, they penetrated to all parts of the continent.

In fact, the artistic, musical, and spiritual customs they've created are among the longest surviving such traditions in human history.

The first documented visit to Australia by a European was in 1606. The Dutch explorer Willem Janszoon landed on the western side of Cape York Peninsula and charted about 300 km (186 miles) of coastline.

There are claims of earlier landings by the Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Arabs, and Romans, but there is little credible documented evidence.

If there is something that Aussies in today's world are known for, it's their easy-going and friendly attitude. They can put aside stress to appreciate the good things in life that are right in front of them. We're hoping you'll be able to enjoy this list just like that!
